ANNOUNCEMENTS ANNOUNCEMENTS

New Change of Dismissal Form

To help streamline our daily end-of-day procedures, we are transitioning all dismissal changes to a simple online form. You no longer need to call the front office and this keeps a paper trail of your request. Please note that our daily cutoff time remains the same: all changes must be submitted by 1:30 PM each day to ensure our staff can safely route every student to their proper location. To make updating your child's pick up quick and easy, please bookmark this link so you can access it whenever you need it! We will also keep a button link in our newsletter throughout the year for easy access.

Coming Soon! Anti- Victimization Lessons (Personal Safety Lessons)

Pursuant to state law, Prosper ISD requires parental consent for instruction on this lesson. This was part of the back to school forms you filled out during the enrollment process. All students without an opt in will not participate in the lesson.

These lessons will take place from October 26- November 13. All 3-5 curricula can be viewed at home using the links. (3-5 Lessons Here) Please take a moment to read over the parent letter for each grade level to learn more details.

Attention: the school supplies are missing?

Somehow, we have a lot of students that have already lost their scissors, highlighters, etc and/or still don't have headphones. Please check in with your child to ensure that they have a pair of headphones here at school as well as all of their other supplies. Supply boxes and headphones should stay at school so please be sure your child has them packed up if they keep it in their backpack. We do not share these items and they will be returned at the end of the school year.

26-27 Yearbook Cover Contest!

This year our Yearbook Cover Contest will be open to all grade levels! We would like students to create a picture on 8 1/2 x 11 paper keeping the school wide theme "The Magical Yet" in mind. All entries are due by October 26th. Please include the student's name on the bottom of the entry along with their teacher's name and do not laminate. The winner will have their picture on the front cover, runner-up will be placed on the back cover, and all other entries will be displayed inside the yearbook.

    • Please do not send toys to school with your child
    • Dress appropriately for the weather
    • Pack a dry snack that isn't messy
    • Send a water bottle with your child (no other liquids in the classroom)
    • Students need sneakers for PE
    • Bring a sweater for class
    • LABEL water, lunch, and sweaters/jackets
    • We know that fidgets can be helpful tools for students who need a little extra sensory support to stay focused during the school day. However, when these items become a distraction to the student or surrounding classmates, they turn from tools into toys. Please remind your child that fidgets are meant to help them learn and listen. If a fidget becomes a distraction during class, your child will be asked to put away in their backpack for the remainder of the day. Thank you for your support in keeping our classroom a focused and productive learning environment!

    Celebrations

    • No birthday party invitations may be passed out during the school day.
    • Invitations may be placed in backpacks at the end of the day with the instruction that they are to be opened at home. There must be an invitation for everyone in the class.
    • Due to life threatening allergies, cupcakes, etc. are not able to be brought to school for student birthdays. Please refer to the PISD Student Handbook for further explanation.

    PurposeFull Pursuit:

Review Responsibility as a family! Responsibility is taking action and understanding how our choices affect others. Choose 1 household chore (or more!) that requires multiple steps. Then have each member of the family select 1 step to complete to help get the job done!

Maybe it is washing the dishes, doing laundry, cleaning the living room, or unloading the groceries – whatever it is, see who can be the quickest or most effective at their task!

    Conversation Starters:

    • How do you know if you are practicing Responsibility?
    • What are some things that might get in the way of showing Responsibility?
