Week 26

It's March!
If you look at our calendar, you can see that it's a busy, busy month. We have Spring Break coming up at the end of the month, so please be sure students are at school whenever possible.
Go over the calendar and place important reminders into your phone calendar so that you don't miss out on any events! We blink and our students' elementary years are over, so let's make sure you are a part of every single moment possible at their first academic stop.
Monday Morning Assembly
On Monday the 3rd, we will be having a Monday Morning Assembly at 8:05 am. If you are available and would like to join us, come on in. We will be recognizing all students who made a 30 point jump from beginning of year to middle of year in Reading and Math with a certificate and two Multnomah dollars. We will be recognizing our White Eagles (students caught be good by adults on campus) with a shout out and one Multnomah Dollar. The winners of the February attendance challenge will be recognized. And finally we will announce our March attendance and iReady incentives.
Valet Line
We are a lovely community and will have to continue to support and look out for one another to keep our students safe. We do not have someone at the corner of Indiana and Multnomah right now as we are short 2 staff members. You have been doing valet drop off and pick ups for 25 weeks now this school year, so you are EXPERTS about the dos and don'ts. Kindly adhere to the valet rules and do not cut in the valet line and do not block the red zone.
Leader in Me
Hopefully by now you have review all 7 habits with your child at home as well so that we have the consistency of home and school language. I am listing them all here again as we continue to go deeper and have this become habit of mind for our students.
Spring Fundraiser Packets
Our Spring Fundraiser packets will go home on Monday, 3/2. Please check your child's backpack for the white envelope. The school will received 40% of the profit from the items sold. All of that will go towards the student body that will benefit the entire school. You have a choice of sweet or savory between cookies and popcorns. All items are $11.00. Support our school by selling and/or purchasing at least 1 item. If I can make a recommendation, the Sweet Sriracha Popcorn has a kick of spice and is super yummy. Buy a bag for yourself or another to stuff an Easter Basket. Here's the prize video. https://youtu.be/RwqAnmJkkMk

Career Day
Thank you to all the parents and community members who signed up for career day! Thank you Ms. Perez, Ms. Santana, and Mr. Galvez for being in charge of the big day. And of course to Ms. Dana, Mrs. Hoffer, and our parent volunteers. I was not able to catch all the presenters on camera. This is only a snippet of all the exciting presenters who donated their time to educate and inform our scholars.
Read Across America Week
This week we celebrate along with the world, Read Across America week. Led by Ms. Borja and Mrs. Fernandez, we are encouraging students to participate in some class challenges as well as engage in some fun dress up days.
