Where Little Panther Cubs Begin BIG Journeys
This is how we Take Chances, Make Mistakes and Get Messy! Our little Panther Cubs are learning to ROAR with pride and how “we do school”!
From the Principal
🎄 Seasons Greetings: Let us Reflect on the past 18 weeks!
Dear Luce Road Panther Cub Families,
As we close out the first 18 weeks of school and have reached Day 82 of school, I want to pause and share how proud we are of our cubs and how grateful we are for your partnership. These weeks have been filled with the kind of learning that matters most in early childhood, learning that happens when children are encouraged to take chances, make mistakes, and get messy. At Luce Road, we do not expect perfection. We celebrate growth. We celebrate the brave moments when a child tries something new, struggles, and then tries again. That is where confidence is built. That is where learning becomes real.
When I think back to Day 1, I remember the wide eyes, the first hellos, and the big goodbyes at the door. I remember children learning new routines, learning how to be part of a group, and learning to trust new adults in a new space. For many of our Cubs, Day 1 was a huge step, and our staff worked hard to create a safe, welcoming environment where every child could settle in and feel they belong.
Now, on Day 82, the difference is clear and it is worth celebrating. We are seeing children who walk in with confidence, who understand routines, and who know what it means to be a member of a classroom community. We are seeing growth in language, independence, and learning stamina. We are seeing children practice sharing, taking turns, and using words to solve problems. We are seeing children learn how to work through frustration, try again when something is hard, and feel proud of themselves when they succeed. That growth from Day 1 to Day 82 is real, and it matters.
This is also what One School, One Path, Three Stops looks like in action. Our Cubs, from ages 2 and a half through 6 years old, have had daily opportunities to learn and grow in ways that match their development while still being connected as one Luce Road community. Childcare, GSRP, Young 5s, and Kindergarten are not separate worlds. They are connected by one vision and one commitment to children and families. Every stop matters, and every stop helps prepare our Cubs for what is next.
Families, thank you for trusting us with your children. Thank you for your support, your communication, and your active participation. Thank you for attending events when you can, volunteering, staying connected with teachers, and reinforcing routines and expectations at home. Your engagement makes a real difference. When children see that home and school are working together, they feel supported, and they grow with confidence.
I also want to recognize our teachers and staff. They have shown up each day with patience, care, and strong professionalism. They have created classrooms where learning is joyful, routines are steady, and children feel safe enough to explore and brave enough to try. Their work reminds me of the quote, “Teaching is taking a hand, opening a mind, and touching a heart.” Our staff does all three. They take a hand when a child needs reassurance, they open minds through meaningful learning experiences, and they touch hearts through consistency, encouragement, and belief in every child.
We wish you Season’s Greetings and a joyful Happy Holidays. We hope these next two weeks are full of love, joy, and laughter. May this be a time of togetherness and family bonding, with moments of rest and special memories made along the way.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
