A NOTE FROM MRS. B A NOTE FROM MRS. B

Happy New School Year, Bronco Family! It’s been a GREAT couple of weeks here at Burleson Elementary. The teachers have put in many hours getting ready for the students. It was awesome seeing the returning smiling faces, the new excited faces, and how much every has changed and grown. But, we know their growing is not finished. This year we get to see them grow academically, emotionally, and mentally. All of us can’t wait to see the amazing things each and every student will accomplish this year. This in only the beginning, and many adventures await…

Remember, you can always find the latest Meadow ISD news on the MISD website and Facebook page, so go check them out! Also, check your kiddo’s backpack and folders for any important paper notes that may have gone home.

Don’t forget to contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions about what is going on in the classroom. We are always here to help.

It’s ALWAYS great to be a Bronco!

I am so excited about this school year and joining the Meadow family! Just a little about me- my name is Laura Dawdy and this will be my 10th year as a teacher. I have taught K, 1st and 2nd, with most of my years in Kindergarten which I taught for 7 years!

I also have a daughter, Reagan, that will be three in November. We spend most of our time on the back porch playing in her water table and taking our chiweenie Koda on walks around the block. We also love to watch movies, we have over 650 DVDs! Reagan's grandparents are currently moving to Lubbock and already have Meadow shirts hanging in their closets! So, I know you will see all three of them at football games, and other events! Our whole family is looking forward to this school year and getting to know all of you!

I am Amy Bayer, and I am teaching 4th and 5th Grade ELAR and 4th Grade Social Studies. I am new to Meadow ISD, and I am very excited to be a part of this amazing staff and teach our incredible students. These first few days have been fantastic! My students are working hard everyday, and they are already seeing success. In my classroom, the effort it takes to be successful is celebrated. Our class moto is Effort = Success! The students display their best efforts everyday in a picture frame. This helps them constantly see their effort, believe their work is worthy of praise, and acknowledge the steps it takes to be successful on the final assignment. I am looking forward to celebrating their success all year!

Hi! I am Stacy Gamez. This is my twelfth-year teaching. I started teaching in kindergarten, then moved to Pre-K and then moved up to 5th Grade Math. Now, I teach 4th and 5th grade Math and half of the 5th grade Social Studies.

I live in Brownfield with my daughter, Jaycee. Jaycee graduated from Meadow High School this past May and will start Texas Tech in August. She wants to be a nurse.

I graduated from a small school. It was Union High School before it consolidated with Wellman. I love the small school setting, and this is why I love teaching in Meadow. I also have a brother, a sister, and nephews that have graduated from Meadow ISD. They have gone on to do awesome things in life. I believe good things and outcomes come from here.

We have good years, and we have had some rocky years, too. Understand that good or bad, we will always strive to make it better.

Thank you for the confidence you have in us and for sharing your children with us! I will love them and work hard to help them this school year. Please, keep us in your prayers.

Go Broncos,

Stacy Gamez

zoom_out_map

Hi! My name is Rae Campbell and I am the school nurse. I graduated from New Mexico State University with my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 2017. My husband and I have been married since 2018 and we have a 9 month old daughter. I love traveling to new places, photography, and spending time with my friends and family! One important change that is happening this year is that all prescription (insulin, inhalers, epi-pens etc.) and over the counter medications (tylenol, ibuprofen, tums, benadryl, etc.) require a signed order from a doctor in order to be given at school. If you would like for medication to be available to your child during the school day, please bring a signed physician order to the school. Forms are available in both secretary offices and my office. I am so excited to be a Meadow Bronco and I look forward to taking care of your child's health needs this school year!
