Eastwood Heights Parent Update

Dear Eastwood Heights Parents,

We hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer! As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we have a few important updates to share:

1. Meet the Teacher Night: Please join us on July 24, 2025 from 2:00-4:30 for our annual Meet the Teacher Night. This is a great opportunity to meet your child's teacher and see their classroom. Rosters will be posted on this day.

2. Additional School Supplies: This District will be providing a limited amount of supplies this year. We kindly ask parents to provide the following additional supplies: see flyer below. Your support is greatly appreciated!

3. YWCA After-School Program: We are excited to welcome the YWCA After-School Program to our campus this year! The YWCA is now our official after-school care provider. See flyer below.

4. Uniforms: Please ensure your child is ready for the school year with the appropriate school uniforms. For details on our uniform policy, see below or please visit our school website.

5. School Office Hours: Our office will be open daily from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm starting Monday, July 7, to assist with any questions you may have. Contact us at 434-4600.

6. School Start Date: The first day of school is Monday, July 28. We look forward to welcoming your child back for another exciting year of learning and growth.

Social Emotional Learning Parent Presentation in Room 102.

Beginning this school year, we will no longer host the traditional Soaring Eagle Assemblies. Instead, students who earn A Honor Roll, A/B Honor Roll, and Perfect Attendance will be recognized during their P.E. classes at the end of each 9-week grading period for students only. We are excited to celebrate our Eagles in a way that keeps the momentum going all year long!

🎓 End-of-Year Assemblies – Families Invited!

While our quarterly recognitions will be student-focused, we wholeheartedly welcome parents and families to join us at our End-of-Year Awards Assemblies, where we will honor the hard work, growth, and accomplishments of our students with you by our side.

🌟 Extraordinary Eagle Assemblies Are Still Soaring!

Please note: our Extraordinary Eagle Assemblies, where students are recognized for demonstrating monthly character traits, will continue as usual. These are separate from the academic and attendance recognitions and are designed to celebrate the heart and character of our students.

We don’t want parents to confuse these two—so while quarterly academic awards will be held during P.E. time for students only, the Extraordinary Eagle Assemblies will still take place as planned.

Thank you for your support as we continue to build a strong, connected school community.

We are excited to welcome the YWCA After-School Program to our campus this year! The YWCA is now our official after-school care provider.

This program will run Monday through Friday from school dismissal until 6:00 PM and offers a fun, structured environment where students can continue to learn, grow, and thrive after the school day ends.

The curriculum includes engaging monthly themes like Fall Fiesta, Sprinkle Kindness, and We Are the World, designed to support student development through creativity, character-building, and community.

Spots are limited, so we encourage families who need after-school care to enroll as soon as possible.
