A Message from the Principal
Thank you to the many parent volunteers who helped to make the Dia de Los Muertos lunchtime activities a success. We had parents donate supplies and parents on site at lunch to help with the organization and distribution of treats during the celebration. We thank our Highlander community for all of their support. The counselors are also looking for support for Wellness Wednesdays and The Breakfast Club, sign-ups for these activities went out in the Counseling Newsletter which is linked below.
This SUNDAY is Dino Dash! All students in Cross Country should have picked up their numbers from Mrs.Bailey after school today. If your student did not, meet the Hewes Team on Sunday morning at 7:45 am in front of Dick's Sporting Goods to get the bib from Mr.Visser. All students should wear their Hewes PE uniform and meet for a team photo at the same location, Dick's Sporting Goods at 7:45 am. The Cross Country race starts at 8:20 am and all students will walk with their coaches over the starting line together. We hope to see the Highlander Community out at the Dino Dash on Sunday!
We continue to collect items for Stockings for the Troops and the Food Drive. We are collecting canned foods for Thanksgiving with Operation Warm Wishes. Please see the flyer in this newsletter with specific donations for each grade level. All canned foods will be collected in your student's first-period class. We also are supporting Stockings for the Troops and collecting items to make our military feel remembered during the holidays. Please see the flyer in the newsletter for needed items that can be dropped off by your student at the school library.
