“Start with Hello Week” is Aug. 30- Sept.2!

“Start With Hello Week” Aug 30- Sept 2 is a district wide initiative promoting social inclusion and prevention of isolation among our students. We have special activities planned for each day:

Monday- Hey Day! We are all going to wear name tags and greet each other by name! (name tags will be provided to students)

Tuesday- Wear Green Day and give at least 3 compliments to others today!

Wednesday- Wear Crazy Socks and ask someone about theirs!

Thursday- Wear your Favorite Shirt Day and ask someone about theirs!

The goal of Start With Hello Week is to encourage everyone to be more socially inclusive and connected to one another. We want all students to feel seen, accepted, and safe!

It’s simple: SEE someone alone - REACH OUT and help - START WITH HELLO

For more information on Start With Hello Week you can go to https://www.sandyhookpromise.org/our-programs/start-with-hello/start-with-hello-week/

Seeking Donations

Mary Orr Intermediate School serves over 600 fifth and sixth grade students. The needs and backgrounds of these students are extremely diverse. We have developed an incentive program that rewards students for excellence in academics and citizenship called Tiger Stripes. This program has proven to be very successful and encourages students to contribute to our school and community in many positive ways. The success of this program has been aided tremendously by the support of area businesses.

This student incentive program allows students to earn a form of money that can be used to purchase a variety of items, both within and outside of the school. Real world skills are developed as students learn to use a register to record deposits and withdrawals. The incentive program allows teachers, parents, and other staff members to reinforce positive behavior in students who are in need of extra encouragement.

The last year has been very challenging for our students, families, and businesses. However, we know that our children are our future. It is my hope that you will help us recognize those students who are working to achieve and excel in our public schools. We are soliciting your donation of services, gift certificates, tickets, and/or merchandise. We would welcome your support if you or your business can participate. Thank you in advance for your consideration of our incentive program.

MISD Offering Free Student Meals for 2021-22 School Year

Free meals for all Mansfield ISD students will continue for the 2021-22 school year.

Every MISD student is eligible for one free breakfast meal and one free lunch meal every school day through May 26, the last day of school.

Learners at all Mansfield ISD campuses can access their free meals in the cafeteria serving lines as usual during their designated meal periods. Second meals, additional entrees, sides and snacks will also be available for purchase.

The free meals are federally funded and are being made possible due to waivers placed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to ensure all children have access to nutritious food.

Families that might qualify for the Free and Reduced Price School Meals program are still encouraged to submit an application for the 2021-22 school year because it provides valuable benefits and services to children.
