Timberwolf Families,

The time has come to welcome back our students and families! We are absolutely thrilled to kick off another exciting school year here at the middle school. Middle school is a time of growth, new discoveries, and lifelong friendships. Our dedicated team can’t wait to support our Timberwolves' journey every step of the way. Whether you are walking through our doors for the very first time or returning as seasoned leaders of our community, this year is packed with fresh opportunities to learn, explore new interests, and shine. We deeply value the partnership between our school and your homes, and together, we are going to make this academic year safe, inspiring, and truly unforgettable. Let's make it a fantastic year!

We are adding a 30 minute Advisory Block at the end of the day. Middle school students thrive when they receive intentional academic support, meaningful relationships with adults, opportunities to explore their interests, and structured social-emotional learning.

The Advisory Block is designed to provide:

  • Academic intervention without reducing core instructional time

  • Targeted literacy and mathematics support

  • Social-emotional learning and relationship building

  • Student choice through engaging clubs and activities

  • Consistent adult mentorship

By creating a predictable weekly routine, students know what to expect each day, and teachers can effectively plan meaningful experiences. Monday and Friday serve as exciting "bookends" to the week, giving students engaging activities to anticipate at both the beginning and end of each week.

Beginning July 27, Annual Verification will be available in ParentVUE. Parents/guardians should log in and complete the Annual Verification for each student, updating any changes to student and family information. Student schedules will not be viewable for parents in ParentVue until after all of the Annual Verification has been completed. Student schedules will be available to view after August 5, 2026.

Sincerely,

SHMS Admin Team

Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application

To apply for free or reduced-price meal benefits for the 2026-2027 school year, families can choose from multiple submission options. Applications can be filled out online at Schoolcafe.com, or completed via paper forms, which are available in person at each school’s main office or can be downloaded from the Nutrition Services webpage. Additionally, a new initiative this year ensures that paper copies of the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application will be distributed directly to all students, except for those attending Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) schools. These copies will be delivered to each school prior to open house. Each school is asked to provide a copy to each student.

Additional language options are available through the online application portal. Please note that meal applications from the 25-26 school year are no longer valid.
