Wizards Newsletter
March 27th, 2026
Hello Wizard Families-
Welcome back from Spring Break! It has been a joy to welcome students back into the building, and we have been encouraged to see them return rested, recharged, and eager to re-engage in their learning. Throughout this week, teachers and students dedicated time to reviewing and practicing our school-wide expectations. This intentional reset helps ensure a positive, structured environment where all students can be successful and feel supported.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our PTO and to all of the families who participated in the STEAM Fair and Book Fair. These events provide meaningful opportunities to celebrate student learning, foster curiosity, and strengthen our school community.
As we move into a busy and exciting spring season, we encourage you to review the calendar dates below for important upcoming events and activities. Finally, please note that there will be no school next Friday, April 4th.
Panorama Survey
Students in grades 3-5, with consent to participate, will complete the Panorama survey again this spring. All survey details are available on our district website. This survey data provides our building leadership team with valuable insights into students’ experiences and helps us identify opportunities to improve how we support all students in our school. As a reminder, you may view your child’s responses within Infinite Campus. The Family Guide for Accessing Panorama SEL Survey Results provides specific directions for accessing this information. If you have any questions, please contact me. Questions may also be directed to the ICCSD Social Emotional Behavioral Health Coordinator, Allison Freitag.
Sincerely,
Heather Stevens
Your voice matters! As we continue to implement Levels One & Two of High Reliability Schools (HRS), we're capturing feedback from families to improve how our school functions. Share your thoughts and help us create the best environment for our students by clicking the box BELOW!

DISCOVERY FAIR
What is it? A Discovery Fair is similar to a Book Fair but the theme is STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). There will be books, kits, and more that celebrate the STEAM fields.
When is it? The Discovery Fair will start Thursday March 26th, right after school (1:45 pm). This is to coincide with the PTO’s Science night. The Discovery Fair will be open until 7:45 pm on Thursday. The fair will also be open during the school day on Friday March 27th for students who were not able to make it on Thursday night, or for students who just want to visit the fair again.
Are eWallets still available? Yes, eWallets are available for this fair. If your student plans to shop on their own at the Discovery Fair, then eWallets are a great way for them to do that. Find out more about eWallets at https://www.scholastic.com/bf/wickhamelementaryschool
Do you have any questions? If you have any questions please contact Michael Schlitz at schlitz.michael@iowacityschools.org.
