Mustang Messenger 5/28/26
Some thoughts for the starting school year
May 28, 2026
A Message from the Principal
Dear St. Matthias Families,
What an incredible evening we shared together at our Night of the Arts celebration! Thank you to all of our families, friends, faculty, and community members who came out last night to support our students and celebrate the many gifts and talents within our school community.
Our students truly shined. From the beautiful dance performances to the creativity and confidence displayed during the fashion showcase, our scholars reminded us that the arts are a powerful expression of joy, courage, and God-given talent. We are so proud of each student who participated and stepped outside of their comfort zone to share their gifts with others.
A special kudos also goes out to our student Masters of Ceremonies, who kept the audience engaged and entertained throughout the evening with humor, energy, and even a little Chi Chi Slide fun! Their confidence and leadership helped make the event both memorable and joyful for everyone in attendance.
Thank you as well to our faculty, staff, volunteers, and families who helped make the evening such a success. Events like these remind us of the beauty of our school community and the importance of celebrating the whole child — academically, spiritually, and creatively
📅 Important Calendar Update
Please note that tomorrow, Friday, will be a full day of school.
While the school calendar originally listed this Friday as a half day, due to the numerous instructional days missed during the winter months, both this Friday and next Friday will now operate as full instructional days.
We appreciate your flexibility and continued partnership as we work to ensure students receive the instructional time needed to successfully conclude the school year.
🎓 A Final Farewell to the Class of 2026
As we prepare to celebrate the graduation of our eighth-grade class this Saturday, we pause with hearts full of gratitude, pride, and joy for the incredible young men and women they have become.
Over the years, the Class of 2026 has grown academically, spiritually, and personally within the halls of the Academy of St. Matthias the Apostle. They have led our school community with faith, resilience, humor, compassion, and school spirit. From classrooms and service projects to athletic events, performances, liturgies, and cherished traditions, this class has left a lasting mark on our school community.
We are proud of all they have accomplished and even more excited about all that lies ahead for them. As they move forward into high school and beyond, we pray that they continue to walk boldly in faith, pursue excellence, and use their God-given gifts to make a positive difference in the world.
To the families of our graduates, thank you for entrusting us with your children and for partnering with us throughout this journey. It has been an honor to support and witness their growth.
Please join us in congratulating the Academy of St. Matthias the Apostle Class of 2026:
Congratulations, Class of 2026!
Once a Mustang, always a Mustang.
May God continue to bless and guide each of you in the next chapter of your journey.
