Around the Division
Elk Island Public Schools has the honour of hosting the Witness Blanket this year. The Witness Blanket is a very profound and powerful exhibit from the Canadian Museum for Human Rights created by master carver Carey Newman. This art installation was created to recognize the atrocities of the residential school era, honour the children and symbolize ongoing reconciliation. Grades 4-12 classes are invited to visit the Witness Blanket from May 23 to June 26.
