District Resources on iPad Webinar Series
The Primary Digital Learning Team is offering a new series of webinars covering district resources on student iPads. These webinars will focus on three separate resources: BrainPop, Flipgrid, and MyOn. Each webinar will be no more than 30 minutes and will take place throughout the day from Tuesday, December 8 through Thursday, December 10. These webinars will start every 30 minutes beginning at 6:00am and ending at 9:00pm, so we hope you can find a time that works for your schedule. In total, there are 30 webinar opportunities for each topic!
Each webinar will cover important information about our primary iPad rollout and how to use these district resources on the iPads. Please sign up for any of the following webinars at a time that works for you. Every webinar for each topic is the same, so you only need to sign up for one for each topic.

3 Key Email Etiquette Tips
Avoid Replying to 'All'
Unless you clearly know that everyone who received the email you are replying to MUST see your reply, be sure to reply only to the sender of the message. Replying to all the recipients of a message is not just unnecessary; it can be very annoying and distracting for everyone on the list who receives a copy of your reply.
The subject line of the email is for the subject only, not for the entire message
Email subject lines are meant to be kept short and simply provide a general idea of what the email is about. Writing out the entire email in the subject line and leaving the body of the message empty is not only confusing, but also not the way email is intended to be used.
Do not use CAPITALS for an entire email
If you WRITE LIKE THIS, USING ALL CAPITALS, IT SEEMS AS IF YOU ARE SHOUTING. At the very most, capitals can be used to emphasize one or two words, but much more than that is generally inappropriate. Use both upper and lower case letters as the norm.
Upload External Certificates into PowerSchool
Upload your External Certificates (COVID, Suicide, TCCA, etc.) into PowerSchool and let PowerSchool keep track of all of your PD hours for the year! At the end of the school year simply run a PDF of all of your PD hours and upload that one document into Frontline! Here's a video explaining how to upload your certificates into PowerSchool!
Hour of Code 2020 is Here!
Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries during Computer Science Education Week December 7-13, 2020.
In Aldine ISD, we will celebrate Computer Science Education Week December 7th-13th with various events and activities across the district. Please check out the resources for activities, live sessions and more with your students in the classroom and at home!
Need a Sample of Student Work from Schoology?
If you are needing a copy of a student's assessment (showing the questions and the answers the student submitted) from Schoology for the purpose of documentation in EIT meetings, ARDs, parent conferences, etc. you can use the GoFullPage Chrome extension.
Here is a video showing how to capture and PDF the assessment and information about GoFullPage is shown below!
eSchool & Schoology Sync
Schoology rostered data will sync with eSchool for the final time for the 2nd 9wks the night of December 7th.
Updates of students and student schedules from eSchool to Schoology (the sync) will be stopped by the district at that time to allow for future schedule changes without students losing access to classes the following day.
During the time that the Schoology syncs are turned off, any new students enrolled in courses will need to be manually added to teacher’s Schoology courses – they will not update from the eSchool schedule. Contact your DLS for assistance with this process. After the sync’s restart, the manually added student will need to be merged by your DLS with the eSchool student record.
Schedules will re-sync with Schoology on the night of January 4th. Students will lose access to Semester 1 courses and gain access to Semester 2 courses at that time.

Manipulatives that are offered include counters, dice, number lines, etc. Toy Theater also has activities in math, reading, art and music so make sure to explore the site to find activities and games that are appropriate for your grade level.
