Sunset PTO's "One and Done" Fundraiser is coming up!
The Fun Run is a PTO sponsored event and is Sunset School’s "one and done" fundraiser. Students can seek flat donations or pledges per lap. Students are encouraged to run, walk, cartwheel, spin or even dance around our Fun Run course. The goal is to have FUN! Students who raise funds have the chance to enter into raffles for prizes. All funds directly support our students and Sunset classrooms with new learning materials, playground upgrades and extras, special school events for students and families, as well as classroom field trips and special activities.
Watch your student's backpacks for the Fun Run packet to come home Monday, September 6!
From the Sunset Music Room
The Sunset Honor Choir, 1st rehearsal, will officially start on Thursday, September 11th. The choir is open to all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. Rehearsals will be after school from 3:15-4:15 p.m. Chorus agreements have been sent home. Please fill out the chorus agreement and turn in to Miss Pinney by Thursday, September 4th. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
Thanks,
Miss Pinney
2nd Grade Swimming Lessons
Free swimming lessons are being offered by the Rec Center to 2nd graders, the sessions are, September 8 through September 18; October 20 through October 30, excluding October 28; November 10 through November 20, excluding November 11; December 1 through December 11; Mondays through Thursdays, unless otherwise noted. Class sizes are limited to 8 students per class. Due to class sizes and to maximize the time allowed for teaching swim classes, there are two different time slots; 3:45 to 4:15 p.m. and 4:15-4:45 p.m. Once all lessons are complete all children still in the pool will be directed to the locker rooms to change.
Rec Center registration forms and information about the swimming lessons were sent home in August. Return completed registration forms to the Rec Center. A bus will transport students from Sunset School to the Rec Center, parents will pick up their student after the lesson. Parents must pick their student up at the Rec Center NO LATER than 5:00 p.m.
Make sure your student leaves home with their swimming clothes and a towel!

New Staff at Sunset!
Hello! My name is Katie McCue and I am so excited to be teaching Title I this school year at Sunset. I have been a teacher in Park 6 since 2009. I have one son who will be turning 26 this month!!! My family loves to travel, camp, and do anything outdoors. I also love coffee, reading, and doing yard work!! I look forward to a great year!!!
Hello,
My name is Millie Margelin and I have worked at Livingston Elementary for 18 years. I had the opportunity to join the Sunset Elementary team. I’m excited to start this school year with awesome new teachers and students.
Hi! I'm Katie Siggins. I've worked in education for 13 years, including teaching two years of 5th grade and two years of 2nd grade. Prior to education, I worked in the accounting field. I recently moved back to Cody and am thrilled to be working at Sunset. I'm looking forward to a great school year!
My name is Danielle Troll and I am so excited to be working at Sunset Elementary. I have been with PCSD#6 for 7 years. I have a 14 year old son named Gunner and an 11 year old daughter named Charlie. I have been married to my amazing husband Shaun for 15 years. In our free time, my family likes to go camping and exploring. My husband and I also love watching our son play hockey and our daughter dance. :)
I'm Sherri Machen. I wan born and raised in Louisiana, but blessed to call Wyoming home. (Yes I cook a lot of cajun things and soul food. LOL) I have been married to my husband, Olin, for 18 years. We have two boys at CHS, Gaige (senior) and Tate (sophomore), that keep us beyond busy with sports, Student Council, FBLA, and college prep. The nieces, nephews, and friend's kids down south all call me Sassy. My spare time is spent at baseball fields far and wide all over the country, occasional hunting, on a beach any chance I can, and spoiling my 4 puppers: Huck and Avy (doodles), Cash (mini poodle), and Winston (mini Schnauzer). I have been a COTA for 12 years and thoroughly enjoy Occupational Therapy in all settings, but I am most excited to be part of PCSD6 full time now! You will definitely see me coming as the lime green Toyota is mine OR I'll be in my yellow "Sassi-Bug" 1979 VW Beetle with the top down. Soak up the sun and GO BRONCS!
My name is Lisa Godwin, and I am excited to introduce myself as the new school psychologist at Sunset Elementary School. I hold a national certification, a specialist degree, and am a diplomate school neuropsychologist. On a personal note, I am a Cody native who is passionate about student learning, my family, and our beautiful state. Helping each of our learners grow to their fullest potential is what inspires me every day. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting our students. Thank you for welcoming me to the Sunset team!
Warmly,
Lisa Godwin

If you didn't complete an application as part of the current student registration process, please take a few moments to complete it by clicking onto the link, http://linqconnect.com/
If it is more convenient, here is a link to the paper application, https://5il.co/21594
