Good evening, Trojan Families!

This is a message from your proud principal, Mrs. Kinard, and the school leaders at Ferndale Middle School. We strongly encourage you to access the digital version of this announcement, available on our school website and social media. It contains additional important information that you and your students need to know.

I want to extend a special thank you to all the parents and guardians who joined us for our Parent Night presentation! Your support and engagement mean so much to us and to our students. We appreciate the time you took to connect with us and learn more about your child’s academic journey.

As we continue through March, we want to remind you that our Math I students will take their interim assessment on Tuesday, March 11th. This assessment helps us measure their progress and guide instruction to support their success. Please encourage your child to get a good night’s rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and come to school ready to do their best.

Additionally, students should have received their YouScience results as well as their NWEA Winter assessment results. These results provide valuable insights into their strengths, interests, and academic growth. We encourage you to take some time to review these reports with your child and celebrate their progress.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your continued partnership and support!

GCS Immigration Response GCS Immigration Response

Every family should know that every child in Guilford County has the Constitutional right to attend school regardless of immigration status. The Guilford County Schools does not request or record information about a student’s immigration status. Federal and state laws protect student information from disclosure to others, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). GCS does not permit non-students, including ICE agents, access to GCS facilities unless they can produce a warrant signed by a federal judge. School administrators will not permit the disclosure of confidential student information without first consulting their attorney to make sure that the information has been properly subject to a federal judge’s warrant.

Families should consult community resources to learn their rights and additional information will be provided to help families access these resources.
