Parent First Semester Survey
We need your help! We think we have the best students, parents, and teachers in MISD but we also know there is always room for improvements. Please help us take a look at our first semster and let us know what is going well, what may need some improvements, and who do we need to celebrate for going above and beyond. CLICK HERE for the quick survey and thanks in advance for your feedback.
SECOND SEMESTER SCHEDULE CHANGES
Due to adjustments made in class sizes and elective courses for the upcoming semester, there may be changes to your child's schedule for semester 2. Our goal is to create the most optimal learning environment for all students. To ensure a smooth transition, students will receive a copy of their updated semester 2 schedule on the first day they return to school. We understand that schedule changes can be disruptive, and we appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we work to provide the best possible educational experience for your child.
CONGRATULATIONS to our STUDENTS of the SIX WEEKS
Each six weeks a different department team, consisting of teachers, nominates a list of students. This team of teachers look for the very best of students, the students that consistently display something we call the Wester Way. They look for qualities and characteristics such as perseverance, optimism, resilience, integrity, focus, and courage. It is often a difficult process to select only six students per grade level, as Wester has the best students in the district. Thank you so much for sending us the most amazing students around! Invitations to the breakfast will be distributed soon.
WESTER 2024-2025 Grant Winners
Mrs. Shaw and Mrs. Mitchell won a grant for Empowering tomorrow's STEM Innovators: Vernier Probeware for Middle School Success. We are so excited to see this in action in our 8th grade science classes this semester.
Mrs. Harris and Mrs. Wofford along with all of the MISD middle school counselors won a grant for the HOPE Squad.

MISD TECHNOLOGY - Protect Young Eyes
Mansfield ISD Technology is excited to welcome Protect Young Eyes, who are national speakers dedicated to helping families and schools create digitally safe environments. Not only have they been featured in the film “Childhood 2.0”, but they have testified to Congress sharing their research and experience. We’ve invited these experts to partner with us as they host an online session for parents, grandparents, guardians, and caregivers that will empower all participants to create a tech-ready environment. See details below.

Audience: Parents, Guardians, Grandparents, Staff and Caregivers Only
Session Summary:
It’s not possible to create a home that removes all risk of digital harm. It is possible to create one that is internet SAFER. After well over a thousand presentations to parents, grandparents, and caregivers just like you, and countless conversations, we’ve observed what it takes to have kids who use technology well. We call it the Tech-Ready Home Framework. This presentation breaks down these five foundational ideas. Do you know what’s better than any parental control? Do you know why your router is the most important digital device in your home? Do you know why TikTok and Snapchat is so compelling to young brains? Get ready for a ton of practical tips, solutions, and ideas you can implement immediately.
Desired outcomes include:
- A deep understanding of why multiple layers of protection are necessary and how they work together.
- Awareness of the hardware and software tools that support your digital goals.
- How to use practical solutions so that your family is prepared, balanced, and protected online.
REZONING INFORMATION - DECEMBER 31st is the DEADLINE
The Mansfield ISD Board has approved zoning changes that will impact the Wester Middle School attendance zone beginning in Fall 2025. Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, some addresses previously zoned for Wester Middle School are now assigned to Howard Middle School and some addresses previously zoned for Mansfield High School are now assigned to Summit High School.
Click HERE for Middle School map or click HERE for High School map to determine if your address is affected.
Students who are affected will automatically be enrolled at Howard Middle School and/or Summit High School for the 2025-2026 school year. Current 7th grade families will have the option to remain at the Wester campus by submitting the Rezoning Option Form 7th Grade, while current 8th grade families will only have the Sibling Option Form 8th Grade if they have a current 10th-grade or 11th-grade sibling remaining at Mansfield High School in Fall 2025.
If you have questions regarding the attendance zones for your residency for the 2025-2026 school year see the link below for more information or contact Student Services at 817-299-6360.
