ROCK CONNECTION
Strasburg Elementary Newsletter September 11th, 2026
โ๐ป Message from the Principal โ๐ป
Dear Parents
It has been an exciting couple of weeks at Strasburg Elementary! From welcoming our Kindergarten students into their Houses at the House Reveal Party, to celebrating our first monthly House Award winners, there have been so many opportunities to recognize our students and build connections across our school. I especially enjoyed seeing our 3rdโ5th grade Student Council representatives step into leadership roles and help make the Kindergarten celebration so much fun.
We also kicked off our Giving Market fundraiser, and I want to thank our families for the enthusiasm and support you have already shown. As we move further into the school year, I continue to be proud of the positive energy throughout our building and the way our students are demonstrating The Strasburg Way each day.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping make SES such a special place for our students!

Kindergarten House Reveal!
Our Kindergarten students are officially part of the SES House System! Last Friday, students discovered whether they would join Bear, Bison, Eagle, or Stag House during our Kindergarten House Reveal Party!
Our 3rdโ5th grade Student Council representatives helped make the celebration extra special by welcoming our newest House members and leading them in games and activities. It was a great opportunity for our older students to demonstrate leadership while building connections across grade levels.

Counselorโs Corner: Growth Mindset
This month in Second Step, students are learning that mistakes help our brains grow! When something is hard, we can learn from our mistakes, try a new strategy, and keep going.
Try it at home: Ask, โWhat mistake helped you learn something today?โ Remind your child, โMistakes mean your brain is growing!โ
ROCK Focus: Knowledge
Knowledge means learning something new every dayโeven when it takes practice. Ask, โWhat new thing did you learn today?โ
Safety For All Our Students
To ensure the safety of all our students, we're asking for your help.
If your child's end-of-day transportation plans change (for example, from car pickup to bus or vice versa), please do not send a message to your child's teacher through ClassDojo or email during the school day.
During instructional time, teachers are focused on teaching and may not have a chance to check their messages. To guarantee your message is received and your child's dismissal is updated, please call the front office directly with any changes.
This will help us make sure all students get to the right place safely and on time. We appreciate your cooperation and support!
