Here is the Weekly Staff Points Report for January 30th-February 5th (at 6:00pm). We had 90% Staff Participation again this week!!!

A Note About the PBIS Store: Based on feedback from the Student Leadership Team (and a whole bunch of students 😄) we have lowered all prices at the PBIS Store. New prices can be seen virtually in the PBIS platform in ClassLink, as well as physically at the store!

Relationships Best Practices Reminder: Offer Choices When Possible (Be Respectful) Giving students small, structured choices (such as which prompt to start with or whether to work alone or with a partner) shows that you value their voice and autonomy. When students feel they have ownership in even small parts of the learning process, they are more likely to engage positively and respectfully. Offering choices also helps reduce power struggles and builds a classroom culture rooted in mutual trust

We will follow the reporting schedule (see link below) on Tuesday, February 10th, during 3rd and 4th periods for required 8th and 6th grade scoliosis screenings.

Copy of CMS Scoliosis Reporting Schedule 2026.xlsx

In addition to following the scoliosis reporting schedule, please adhere to the guidelines listed below throughout the duration of this event.

  • Prior to reporting for these screenings, make sure that students line up in two lines (boys and girls) in alphabetical order in the hall just outside the health classrooms (room#333and #335).This expectation also applies to those students who are in possession of “do not screen” forms (see below). Be sure that you are actively monitoring your students throughout your assigned screening time.

  • Students must return all “do not screen” forms to our cluster nurse (Ms. Oddo) on the day of this event (Tuesday, February 10th). Do not accept/collect these forms.

  • Any student that has a “do not screen form” must line up with their class and submit their completed form to Ms. Oddo outside the locker room doors on this date/time.

  • Any student who refuses to be screened and fails to submit the completed “do not screen form” will also meet with Ms. Oddo.

  • Once your class has completed the screening process, students will exit the locker room and return to their applicable class/period.

  • The attached reporting schedule is very “tight “so some students will arrive late to their next class/period.

Thanks for your assistance and please reach out if you have any questions.

User uploaded image
zoom_out_map

To support our continuing work with using the AVID 5-Step Notetaking Process and teaching it to students, Ms. Wiggins and Ms. Salvatore have printed and laminated a poster outlining the AVID 5-Step Notetaking Process so your students will have a constant visual reminder. We would like every staff member to have a poster with this process posted in your classroom. The posters we printed will be passed out at GL meetings next Wednesday. If you already have your own visual outlining the AVID 5-Step Notetaking Process, you may continue to use it if you prefer it to the posters we printed.

If you do not already have a visual for this process, please be sure to get a poster and hang it up next week. Extras will be available in the Media Center if you are absent on Wednesday.

Please make sure that you are following our school policy of entering grades within 5 days of an assignment due date (10 if it is a major project or essay that requires extensive grading). We are coming up on the 4.5 grading report which means that teachers should be close to ½ of the 2 majors 3 minors and 3 practice assignments required every 9 weeks. Please also make sure your grades are syncing regularly with IC. The grading compliance report pulls from Infinite Campus and that is where many parents see grades as well. Thanks.
  2. MTSS Position-We will have an MTSS position opening for next year. We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable about the MTSS process and steps, who is organized and thorough and who is good at communicating with staff and parents. If you are interested in being considered for this position, you will need to complete the attached task and email it to me by Friday at noon. We will look at all the submissions and will determine who to bring forward for an interview by Monday, February 9.
