Mr. Macken's Message
Centerville Families,
As we enter Thanksgiving Week, I want to take a moment to share my gratitude for each of you.
To our families: thank you for trusting us with your children and for partnering with us as they grow and thrive. Your encouragement and support truly mean the world to us.
To our incredible staff: your dedication and passion inspire me every single day. You pour your hearts into creating a safe, welcoming, and enriching environment for every student, and it never goes unnoticed.
To our amazing kids: you are the heart of Centerville! Your curiosity, kindness, and excitement for learning remind us why we do what we do. You bring joy to our hallways and classrooms, and I am so proud of all you have accomplished.
This season, I am especially thankful for the sense of community we share at Centerville Elementary. It is a place where everyone feels valued, welcomed, and respected.
May your Thanksgiving be filled with love, laughter, and good memories.
Go Cougars!

The Centennial School Board approved the 2026-2027 academic calendar at its November 17 meeting. The school board reviewed the calendar over several meeting sessions, approving the recommendation by the District's Calendar Committee. The calendar includes the survey feedback, a perspective that guided the recommendation by the committee. See the Centennial calendar webpage.

School Board hosts listening session on December 1
In ongoing efforts to gather feedback from stakeholders, the School Board is hosting quarterly Listening Sessions for the public. The sessions provide the opportunity for community members, staff, parents, and students to meet informally with board representatives and the superintendent to discuss topics in the schools. Listening Sessions increase communication and engagement work that reflects the district’s commitment to excellence. Additional sessions to seek input/perspective on topics established by the Board would be scheduled as a special or additional Board Listening Session.
Board members or the superintendent may ask clarifying questions of you as the participant to gain a thorough understanding of your concern, suggestion, or request. If there is any follow-up or response to your comment or suggestion, you will be contacted via email or phone in a timely manner by a member of the board or administration. Please be aware that disrespectful comments or comments of a personal nature, directed at an individual either by name or inference, will not be allowed. Personnel concerns should be directed first to a principal or executive director of the department, then to the executive director of human resources, then to the superintendent, and finally, in writing, to the board.
Upcoming listening sessions:
December 1, February 9, and April 20. Sessions are held in the District Office Board Room from 5:30 pm-6:15 pm. More information can be found on the Centennial website.
