IMPACTing our School for Success - Every Person, Every Day
A message from Mrs. Holloman, Principal
Dear IVES Families,
What a fantastic month it’s been! So many fun things have taken place, including last night’s Trunk or Treat event. A huge thank-you to our amazing PTO for organizing such a wonderful community gathering — it was a joy to see so many families come together and celebrate!
Next week, both PTO and SAC will be meeting on Wednesday evening:
PTO Meeting: 5:00 PM
SAC Meeting: 6:00 PM
I’d like to personally invite you to attend our School Accountability Committee (SAC) meeting. This month, we’ll be focusing on gathering parent input on our Behavior Matrix at IVES. Your thoughts and feedback are so valuable as we continue working diligently to support our students — both academically and personally.
At our last SAC meeting, parents expressed a desire to receive more regular classroom newsletters from teachers. We’re happy to share that you should now be seeing more consistent updates across grades K–5, keeping you informed about what’s happening in your child’s classroom. We truly value your feedback and are always striving to grow and serve our community better each week.
Another great suggestion was to host a few opportunities for families to connect and share ideas in a relaxed setting. We’re excited to introduce “Coffee & Conversations with the Principal!” This will be a casual time for parents to come in (or join virtually via Google Meet) to discuss topics that matter most to you and to our school.
Please see the short survey where you can share what topics you’d like to learn more about and the times and formats that work best for you.
We greatly value hearing from our IVES community and want to ensure that every voice is heard. Your input truly shapes our school’s growth and helps us continue creating a positive and inclusive environment for all students and families.
Thank you again for entrusting your wonderful children to our care. It is truly an honor to partner with you in their growth and success.
Warmly,
With excitement and gratitude,
Pam Holloman
Principal

Important Information
Cell Phone Policy:
In accordance with district policy, cell phones and other personal communication devices (to include smart watches) should be kept in students' backpacks and turned off during the school day. These devices should not be used during school hours unless specifically authorized by a teacher for educational purposes. This helps reduce distractions and supports a positive classroom environment.
Please review the Power Zone and Inspiration View Elementary's Cell Phone Policy
Dress Code:
We ask that families help ensure students come to school dressed appropriately. Clothing should be school-appropriate, comfortable for learning and play, and in line with the district dress code. This includes items such as shorts and tank tops, which should provide adequate coverage and support a respectful school atmosphere.
Important Traffic Support Needed
Safety is our first concern. Please follow the signage for right turn only out of the parking lot. We have had several near misses recently and need to ensure the safety of all. Thank you for following the posted signage.
Please do not use the dirt lot to the west of the school as this property is not a parking lot and creates safety concerns when exiting onto Vista Del Pico. Please use the street for parking, the kiss and go lane, or the Inspiration View Elementary parking lot. Thank you!
Attendance:
If your student has an appointment, please be sure to send in a physician's note to the front office so that we can properly code the excused absence in the system. Examples might include, doctor, dentist, etc.).
Should your student be absent, parents must report this absence to the front office with a phone call (719-495-5302) or an email (nicole.prewitt@d49.org). Nicole is our Attendance Secretary and is the person who can assist with the call. If you do not report your student's absence, it will be marked as unexcused. Unexcused absences are tracked and reported to D49 truancy. If you have any questions about reporting absences or truancy, please reach out to Jessica Cole (719-495-5307).

Thank you for an awesome field day, Mr. Earman!
All students had the opportunity to learn from true athletes training at the Olympic Training Center! Mr. Earman arranged to have 2 female Freestyle Wrestlers come speak to students about sportsmanship and training. They even showed some of their freestyle wresting moves and got students amp'd up for Field Day!
