Principal Search Update — Help Us Spread the Word

As part of Ridgeline’s commitment to strong leadership and thoughtful organizational continuity, we’ve begun the search for our next Principal. This is an exciting opportunity to welcome a Montessori-aligned instructional leader who will build on our strong foundation and support students, staff, and our school community.

View and share the Ridgeline Principal Brochure

We’re grateful for your partnership in sharing this opportunity with your networks as we plan intentionally for Ridgeline’s future.

🚗 CRITICAL INFORMATION: PLEASE READ

Within the last week, we received a letter from a neighbor sharing concerns from the Wild Oaks Homeowners Association regarding traffic conditions along West Amazon Drive, including photographs.

In addition, yesterday during afternoon pick-up we witnessed an angry neighbor yelling profanity, stopping multiple Ridgeline cars that were lined up and blocking driveways. This was both alarming and caused parents to call and report it.

Due to these recent events, we want to clarify expectations and ensure everyone understands the safety guidelines.

The Bottom Line

  • The drive-through queue should extend only to Rosewood Drive (the small “no-name” street)

  • The curb in this area is yellow (NO PARKING), with space for approximately four vehicles between Rosewood and Ridgeline’s entrance
  • If the queue area is full, do not wait in the travel lane on West Amazon

  • DO NOT BLOCK the street or driveways, or mailboxes to the north of Rosewood

  • DO NOT DRIVE in the left-hand lane of oncoming traffic. It is unsafe and illegal to impede traffic or cross the double yellow line to bypass waiting cars.

Safe Options (Choose One & Please Consider Option 2)

Option 1: If the line is full, CONTINUE DRIVING DOWN West Amazon, TURN LEFT on Snell, CIRCLE BACK by turning left on Fox Hollow, and return to West Amazon when space becomes available.

Option 2: PARK FARTHER UP THE STREET OR ACROSS THE BRIDGE AND WALK OVER TO MEET YOUR STUDENT. Many families choose this option, and it significantly reduces congestion.

Remember that pick-up lasts 10 minutes—there is no need for everyone to arrive right at 3:05 p.m.

Thank you for helping us keep drop-off and pick-up safe, respectful, and smooth for all Ridgeline students, families, and neighbors.

Volunteering - What You Need to Know

Volunteers are an essential part of the Ridgeline community, and there are many ways to get involved!

  • From serving on committees, preparing materials at home, and helping with grounds work, to assisting in classrooms, chaperoning field trips, acting as crossing guards, and more—your time and talents make a big difference.

Each family is asked to contribute 40 volunteer hours per school year and we’d love to help you find volunteer opportunities that fit your schedule and interests.

  • To participate, all volunteers must first complete a background check and sign the Volunteer Code of Conduct.
  • Once these two steps are complete, the School Community Coordinator will notify you by email that you are green badge approved and ready to volunteer!
  • Visit our website or contact Ridgeline’s School Community Coordinator, Bethany Dilla, or learn more.

Track it Forward - Information for New Volunteers

Why It Matters

New beginnings prompt the opportunity to form new habits! When it comes to volunteering, we need everyone to consistently track ALL volunteer hours throughout the school year in Track It Forward. Volunteer hour reporting is important for us to show support for Ridgeline when applying for grants and for reporting to our sponsoring district, Eugene 4J.

How to Get Started

If you are new to Ridgeline and have not yet created a Track it Forward account for logging your volunteer hours, please take a moment to do so. If you are a first-time Track It Forward user and have not set up an account you will need to create an account first.

  • Go to https://www.trackitforward.com/user or go to the App store on your device and search for Track It Forward
  • Next download the App
  • Create your account/log in
  • Sign up for volunteer opportunities and log your volunteer hours!

RIDGELINE COMMITTEES RIDGELINE COMMITTEES

February Board Meeting Recap

Hello Ridgeline Community!

The Board met for our monthly meeting on Feb. 12. We heard reports from our terrific Principal's Advisory Committee, Board committee members, and our Executive Director. Our Operations Manager Yaeko shared the data and analysis gathered during The Possibility Project. and Board members asked questions about the values and priorities shared by families and staff. We will use this information to inform upcoming budgeting discussions. We received and approved a recommendation for revised Administrative Salary Schedules, learned about the 2024-25 4J Annual Review (it was very complimentary!), and heard updates about the Principal Search. We also looked at and discussed a draft version of a Disruptive Public Comment Procedure.

The Board is in the midst of a lot of big, exciting work! Please reach out to board@ridgeline.org if you have questions or would like to chat further about what the Ridgeline Board of Directors does to support our school and our students!

Ridgeline School Counselor Highlight

I’m Ridgeline’s school counselor, Jon Talebreza-May, and I support the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of all students in grades K–8. I provide schoolwide support for our community, while also offering more targeted support for students who benefit from regular check-ins, skill-building lessons, and support during emerging situations. If you have a social-emotional concern about your child, I welcome you to reach out.

  • For non-urgent concerns, emailing jon.talebreza-may@ridgeline.org is the best first step, so I can understand what you’re seeing and follow up as soon as possible.

  • For urgent or same-day safety concerns, please contact the front office to help connect you to the best resource.

My goal is to ensure every child feels safe, connected, and equipped with the skills they need to thrive at school.

Cough Drop Reminder

We know there has been quite a bit of illness going around, and sometimes that lingering cough can stick around even after students are feeling better. Cough drops can provide helpful relief during the school day, and we’d like to share a reminder about our school policy, per the guidance of our nurse consultant:

  • Cough drops must be kept in the front office.

  • Parents/guardians must complete a Medical Authorization Form.

  • Please provide the cough drops to the office in a bag clearly labeled with your student’s name.

When a student needs a cough drop, they may come to the office, and we will provide one.

Please note: If teachers or assistants find cough drops in a student’s backpack, they will send them to the office, and we will contact home to review the policy. At that time, we can arrange for a parent/guardian to complete the Medical Authorization Form.

Thank you for your partnership in helping us keep students safe and comfortable during the school day.
