At Sonora ES our mission is high learning for ALL!
As your child comes home, make sure you ask them about different parts of their day and what they are learning. Here are some suggested conversation starters:
- Tell me about the best part of your day.
- Who did you play with today? What did you play?
- What did you do in phonics (K-3)?
- What did you do in word study/morphology (4-5)?
- What book did you read today? What book is your class reading?
- What specials class did you go to today? What did you work on?
- Show me some math problems that you are practicing.
- What level are you on in Lexia? Are you meeting all your units?
- How many puzzles have you completed in ST Math?
We want students to be able to share with you all the parts of their day! When you ask "What did you do at school today?" and they say "Nothing", that's just not reality :)
Scholars Shining Bright Award
Our mission statement is high learning for ALL! Please use this form to nominate a staff member who exemplifies our mission of high learning and shining bright! Each recipient will receive a certificate, be announced on the morning announcements, and posted on social media. We will continue to recognize our students with the 'Shining Bright Award' as they are nominated by students.
