Principal's Message to Families

The home stretch of 2022 is upon us! Thinking back over the year as a whole, I continue to be amazed at all we've been able to do as a school. A year ago, many of the ideas for reimagining our school hadn't even been formulated yet! I'm continuously amazed by the incredible work being done each day by our staff and students. The best is yet to come in the new year!

The calendar raffle is going strong and we are calling winners daily. Before vacation, we will pull the rest of the names and publish one final calendar with all the prize winners.

When we return from vacation in January, a new set of clubs and offerings will be released with a sign-up sheet. The Winter Session will begin the week of January 23, 2023.

Dismissal Procedures

  • Dismissal procedures begin at 3:25 PM for walkers and parent pick-ups, followed by bus riders.
  • The driveway leading to the front of school is for school buses ONLY starting at 3:15. Any vehicles parked in front of the school will not be permitted to move until the last school bus departs (3:35 PM or later).
  • Caregivers may park along the entrance road (Francis McGee Way) or turn right onto Park Ave East and park along the street or in the parking lot at dismissal.
  • Students in grades K-3 who do not ride the bus will be dismissed directly to a caregiver ONLY at the elementary door near the school sign.

*Important Notice

The safety of all children is our first priority. It is critical that any changes to a student's dismissal routine be sent to the school office in writing, even if it is just for one day. Changes by parent phone call are for emergencies only and the office will require a return call to a number we have on file for the custodial parent to verify the change. Students will be dismissed ONLY to caregivers who are listed on the Student emergency Form.

Medication Information

Any students who have emergency medications (Epi-Pens, inhalers, etc.) or who will receive medication in school must have a medication order from the prescribing physician AND a completed consent form from the City Health Department. Forms and medication can be dropped off to the school nurse on the first day of school. The school nurse cannot administer ANY medications without a physician's order, including over-the-counter medications. Please make sure that the school nurse is provided refills in advance of any medication supply running out.
