The Weekly Update #4
July 31st, 2025
Thank You! Last Newsletter of the Year!
Good Morning Killam Families,
It is always bittersweet to write the last newsletter of the school year. As I reflect on this year, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for our entire Killam community β our students, staff, and families.
This year, our school truly soared to new heights in Discovery Mode. We were recognized by DESE for our academic achievement and by MA Safe Routes to School for our focus on student safety and partnership throughout the building project. More importantly, I have watched our students grow in countless ways, seen our community come together for some of the most joyful and memorable events, and witnessed families partner with us each step of the way.
I cannot thank you enough for your time, support, trust, and partnership in making Killam such a special place. Our community is stronger because of the way you show up for our students and our school.
A few important reminders for this final week:
Kindergarten Celebration: Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.
Mini Groundbreaking Ceremony for Students: Wednesday. This will be a kid-centered ceremony; the official town groundbreaking ceremony will take place over the summer.
5th Grade Moving On Ceremony: Thursday at 9:00 am. Doors will open at 8:45 a.m.
No School Friday: There will be no school on Friday in observance of Juneteenth.
Last Day of School: Monday with an 11:00 a.m. dismissal. Please note that no lunch will be served on Monday.
Building Project Updates: More information about the building project will be shared in mid-July.
School Supply Kits: If you have not yet ordered a school supply kit and would like to do so, please be sure to place your order by July 1.
Class Placements: Class placements are anticipated to be shared during the second week of August.
I hope you have a fun, restful, and joyful summer with your families. I will be working on and off throughout the summer, so please do not hesitate to reach out by email if you need anything.
Thank you again for a wonderful year. Wishing you all a happy and healthy summer!

Thank You, Field Day Volunteers!
A huge thank you to all of our Field Day volunteers for helping make the day such an incredible success. It truly felt like the best day ever, and our students had an absolute blast! We simply could not make a day like this happen without the time, energy, flexibility, and support of our amazing volunteers.
A special thank you to our dunk tank team for going above and beyond to make sure this favorite station was ready for our students. Thank you to Lorna and Chris Murphy for donating their time and truck to move and set up the dunk tank, Dave Feieraband and Shaun Hannafin for helping with the dunk tank setup, and Washington Nguyen for returning the tank.
And a very special shoutout to Lindsey Renzullo for truly saving the day by buying Flex Tape and patching the tank to keep the water in all day for the kids!
Thank you again to everyone who helped make Field Day such a joyful, memorable day for our Koalas!
