Volume 5/Issue 3 - August 31st, 2025
Welcome to September!
I hope you had a great weekend and that you enjoy the extra day tomorrow! Congratulations to all of those who competed at the State Fair (both 4H & FFA) as well as all of our other activities that are rolling (softball, dance/cheer, girl's golf, quiz bowl, one-act, football)!
This month marks a pivot from the relaxed pace of summer to the full swing of academic and extracurricular life. The fall season is a call to action, demanding we step up to new challenges and deepen our knowledge both academically and socially. With a packed calendar of activities and a focus on learning, now is the time to commit! Let’s remember that success is earned through hard work and determination. I am excited to witness the incredible achievements that will come from our collective efforts, TOGETHER!

PBiS and Going Above and Beyond
I wanted to share some awesome positivity that recently came across my desk. Last night, I received an email from the Superintendent of Hampton that had the title of "SRC Boys."
"Good evening,
I wanted to let you know that your boys were AWESOME tonight after the VB game. We were picking up the team chairs and the next thing I know all your boys were helping right alongside our administration. They were GREAT help! Just wanted to make sure I passed this along."
Leading by example and the smallest acts of kindness make a HUGE impact on those around us. Proud of these gentlemen and I look forward to sharing more positives for all of our students as the year continues! Let's keep the positive vibes and actions rolling!

✨Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)✨
Congratulations goes to our own Becky Schueth who has been named a State Finalist for this award!
This is the highest honors bestowed by the United States government specifically for K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teaching. Awards are given to science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teachers who have both deep content knowledge of the subjects they teach and the ability to motivate and enable students to be successful in those areas.
Mrs. Schueth is currently teaching high school mathematics here at SRC. This is her 11th year at S-RC and I teach Geometry, Technical Math, College Algebra, PreCalculus and Calculus. Becky has 20 years of experience in teaching and she began her career at Columbus High School. Mrs. Schueth Bachelor’s (2005) and Master’s (2009) degrees are from Wayne State College. She enjoys sharing her excitement for math with her students each day!
When you see her, please make sure you congratulate her on this incredible achievement! We are all proud and rooting for you!

Message for the Week:
Message from Mr. Tejkl
Consistency...
Good morning!
I hope your weekend is going great and that you are able to enjoy the extended break! Labor Day is more than just a long weekend—it's a day dedicated to honoring the hard work and dedication of the American worker. From teachers and healthcare professionals to construction workers and small business owners, this holiday recognizes the essential contributions of everyone who makes our society function. Enjoy this day of rest and celebration, well-deserved for all your efforts.
As we turn the page to September, we are met with the start of a season filled with new opportunities and challenges. Here is the quote for this week: "You throw a bucket of water on a rock and it doesn't do anything. You let a drop of water fall on a rock and it will create a hole. Consistency beats intensity almost certainly."
This simple yet powerful message applies to everyone in and out of our school building. For our students, it's about the daily commitment to learning, the steady practice of a new skill, and the consistent effort to be kind. For our teachers and staff, it’s the constant encouragement you offer, the steady hand that guides a struggling student, and the positive energy you bring to our buildings day after day. And for our families and community members, it's your ongoing support that builds the stable foundation upon which our district can thrive.
True progress and meaningful impact aren't born from a single, grand gesture. They are the result of small, determined efforts over time. On the days when we feel less than 100%, remember that giving 100% of what we have is more than enough. By leading with a positive attitude and focusing on that consistent effort, each of us—students, teachers, and patrons—is creating a ripple effect of success that will benefit our entire district today and into the future!
Have a great rest of your Sunday!
Quote of the week to reflect on:
"You throw a bucket of water on a rock and it doesn't do anything. You let a drop of water fall onto a rock every day and it creates a hole. Consistency beats intensity almost certainly."

Tucker Tejkl
