SUMMER SCHOOL REQUIREMENTS
This is a reminder of summer school requirements.
Middle School Students Grades 6 - 8 who earn a final grade below 60% in Math and/or English will be required to attend summer school.
High School Students Grades 9-12 will be required to attend summer school for the following reasons:
Student earned a final grade of below 60% in a current or previous course
Loss of credit in a course due to absences
Need to make up or meet a graduation requirement
Summer School will run July 7th - July 31st, Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.
We recommend that students and families check Aspen regularly for grades and communicate with teachers to make plans to bring up grades if currently in danger of failing a class for the year.
High school families, it is also a good idea to check attendance to ensure that students are not in danger of losing credit for a class. Just a reminder that students are allowed 8 absences for a semester class and 16 absences for a full year class.
SAN SALVADOR ISLAND ~ JUNE 2026
The Science Department of Carver Middle-High School is pleased to offer an exciting and unique opportunity for students currently in grades 8-10 to travel to San Salvador Island in the Bahamas in June of 2026. The purpose of our trip to the island will be to participate in scientific field research utilizing the island’s rich marine and ecological resources for our study. San Salvador is not a tourist island and we will not be participating in typical tourist activities such as shopping and tanning on the beach. Instead we will be snorkeling, hiking, caving and exploring island ecology in a tropical location. While on the island we will be staying at the Gerace Research Centre, a scientific field station established specifically for scientists, students, and teachers to study in a tropical environment. Pictures from our past trips and more information can be found in this slideshow. For more information please contact Sean Lyman at lymans@carver.org.
