A short week, but a lot of learning and activities here at GBS.

There are a lot of great pictures below of our GBS students. Pictures of making cookies, serving turkey dinner at Antrim Village to the residents, Mr. Cogan's holiday elves at work, lots of things!

Coming up when we get back as part of our social-emotional support initiatives, we are teaching 7th grade students about mental health, and how to seek help if they are worried about themselves or a friend, using a program called SOS Signs of Suicide. The program will be delivered December 2, 3 and 4. It teaches students about this difficult topic and encourages them to seek help. Through the program, students learn to ACT (Acknowledge, Care and Tell) a trusted adult if they are concerned about themselves or a friend. They will watch video clips, participate in a guided discussion, and complete a brief screening tool. We encourage you to visit www.sossignsofsuicide.org/parent for information on warning signs for youth suicide, useful resources, and some of the key messages students will learn.
