IMEC Update IMEC Update

The music department is on the move! Mr. Stefans, Ms. Marshall, and Mr. Kowalski will all be attending the Illinois Music Education Conference on Thursday - Saturday of this upcoming week. If you have any questions / emails for us, please be aware that responses may be a bit delayed.

A huge thank you to Carole Zurales for getting everything booked and set up for this trip!

PJHS Solo and Ensemble PJHS Solo and Ensemble

The IESA Solo & Ensemble contest is a great way for PJHS band and choir members to develop performance skills, boost self-confidence, and learn new repertoire. Since its first contest in 1934, students perform for judges who assess student's playing based on factors such as, intonation, balance, technique and many other factors.

Participants must arrange their own transportation to Bradley Middle School on Saturday, April 5, where they will be assigned a performance time. While performances are held in classrooms with limited audience space, parents and family are encouraged to attend and support their young musicians.

Interested students must return the attached form below to Mr. Kowalski or Ms. Marshall by Monday, January 27.

Question: What do choir and hockey have to do with each other??.....

PIC and PJHS Choirs will be making a trip to the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL on Sunday, March 16. The choirs will be singing at the stadium with 20 other school choirs during one of the intermissions of the 3:00 pm Chicago Wolves game that afternoon.

We will have access to discounted rate tickets ($18.50) for any family and friends who wish to attend the game: people who purchase the discounted rate tickets will be seated in the same section as the choir (non-singer seats will be in the rows immediately in front of the choir). A permission slip will be sent home soon. Be sure to MARK YOUR/YOUR CHILD'S CALENDAR for March 16 -- this is going to be a really fun outing for the PIC and PJHS choirs!
