Homeroom Advisory Presentations
Since the start of the school year, counselors have been busy during homeroom advisory delivering presentations to students on a variety of topics. Counselors will continue to deliver upcoming pertinent information via homeroom advisory so that students have access to this important material.
Grade 9
In addition to all of the link crew activities being done for our freshmen, they also received a presentation on how to successfully navigate the rest of the year and transition to sophomore year.
Grade 10
Students in grade 10 had presentations regarding the PreACT assessment and how to interpret those scores. Additional presentations included the following topics: graduation pathways, checking email, how to access tutoring, smart futures reminders, and service hours application completion.
Grade 11
Students in grade 11th received a PSAT score results presentation and an interactive overview of the comprehensive post-secondary planning tool, BigFuture.
Grades 11 and 12
Any student in grades 11 and 12 who has not yet met a graduation pathway is being invited to take the ASVAB test during one of several dates offered during the school year. Students who have not yet met a pathway, will be emailed directly by administration.
Grade 12
Senior counselors have held personal meetings with their seniors regarding post-secondary plans. They have been making homeroom visits to answer questions, discuss post-secondary opportunities as well as encourage FAFSA applications and provide scholarship opportunities.
Signs of Suicide
All students in grade 9 will have a presentation in health class on the signs of suicide. Please see the letter below for a detailed description of this program.
