Coyote Pride - Week of 08/25/25

KINDNESS WONDER WALL
NEWS FROM PRINCIPAL FRYDMAN
đŸ A Message from the Mr. Frydman
Hello Desert Heights Families,
It has been a busy and exciting week as we welcomed our new kindergarten students! Weâre so proud of how well most of them have transitioned into school life, and we continue to partner with families to support a few who are still finding their rhythm. Our staff is committed to helping every child feel successful and confident.
This week I had the chance to visit several classrooms:
-
Ms. Jonesâ 1st graders were practicing phonological segmentation skillsâa big phrase that simply means breaking spoken words into their individual sounds. For example, in the word cat, students learn to hear and separate /c/ â /a/ â /t/. This builds a strong foundation for reading and spelling.
-
Ms. Hoffmanâs 4th graders were working through the writing processâfrom brainstorming ideas, to drafting, revising, and editingâhelping them grow as thoughtful, clear writers.
-
Ms. Parrishâs 5th graders were diving into our brand-new Reveal Math Curriculum, which emphasizes problem-solving, reasoning, and collaboration.
-
And in our special education classrooms, students were receiving specially designed instruction tailored to their needs so they can be successful in their general education classes alongside their peers.
Iâd also like to invite all of our families to join us for our Back to School Experience on Tuesday. This evening is designed to help you connect with your childâs teachers, see what theyâll be learning this year, and better understand how you can support them at home. Itâs also a wonderful chance to strengthen our school-home partnership, which is at the heart of your childâs success.
We are so grateful for your continued support and partnership. Together, weâre building a strong, caring school community where every student can thrive.
Thank you for joining our New Family Breakfast!
