Welcome back from winter break! We hope you had time to rest and recharge and that your first few days back with students have been off to a smooth start. As we settle back into routines, thank you for the energy and care you bring to your classrooms each day. We’re glad to be back together for the weeks ahead.

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 19, 2026, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a courageous leader who believed in equality, justice, and peaceful change. As a minister and civil rights leader, Dr. King led marches, gave powerful speeches like “I Have a Dream,” and inspired people to stand up against unfair laws using nonviolence. After his death in 1968, many people worked to honor his legacy, and in 1983 the United States created Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a federal holiday, celebrated on the third Monday in January. This day reminds us to learn about Dr. King’s life and message and to celebrate by taking action—participating in service projects, helping others, showing kindness and respect, standing up against bullying, and making our school and community welcoming and fair for everyone.

We’re excited to share that Elizabeth Zupan, Into Math Instructional Coach, is tentatively scheduled to visit our district in March to work with 2–4 teams. This is a great opportunity to engage in meaningful professional learning focused on our district-adopted core math curricular resources. Teams will collaborate to plan a lesson, observe a modeled lesson taught in one of your classrooms, and participate in a reflective debrief to strengthen instructional practice.

What Do the Into Math Icons Mean?

When navigating the Into Math digital platform, you may notice a variety of icons attached to lessons and resources. These icons are more than just visuals - they help you quickly identify how a resource can be used and which format best meets your instructional goals.

One Resource, Four Different Icons

The Reteach appears in four different formats, each represented by a unique icon. While the content focus remains the same, each icon signals a different way to deliver or access the lesson.
