Units for Credit Advancement Overview

This is the season to take a look at where you are on the salary schedule. You can view the overview If you decide to take units for advancement, please follow the below process:

  1. Fill out the Request for Credit form. This form goes to your supervisor for preapproval of courses.

  2. Take the approved course.

  3. Fill out the Unit Application Form to apply these pre approved units to your form. You will attach any transcripts to this form. (Please do not send transcripts to the DO 😃)

  4. HR will send you a copy of your units worksheet with the units applied to your worksheet.

All units are due September 30th to be applied to your salary retroactive to July 1, 2023. If you attend a professional development which you are approved for hours, you must attach a copy of a timesheet to the Unit Application Form. Do not just send a timesheet or we will pay you!

Please note we will review all units in September/October and confirm your salary movement, but feel free to turn in units as soon as they are earned. If you believe you will move columns this October, please give me a heads up as well!

Credential Reminder for Certificated Employees

As a reminder, as a condition of your employment you are required to be a fully credentialed educator. This means means you must have a credential which matches your subject area AND a CLAD certification if you are assigned an EL student (which is mostly everyone). If you have any questions about this please reach out to me. It also means keeping your credential renewed. We automatically check renewed credentials so no need to tell us when you renew it, just please stay on top of it!
