Welcome to November! As we enter a season of thankfulness, we are reminded of how much we have to be thankful for. We’re grateful to our families for partnering with our school and supporting your children’s learning at home. Let’s keep working together to help students finish the first semester strong!

At Wortham Oaks Elementary, every school day is an opportunity for students to learn, connect with friends, and take part in the classroom community. Regular attendance helps children build skills and routines, stay connected to lessons, and feel confident as they grow.

Arriving on time matters, too. When students are here before the school day begins, they can settle in, get ready, and start learning with their classmates. Even a few late minutes can mean missing morning instructions or feeling rushed as the day gets underway.

Over the last several days, we have been seeing about 50 tardies a day. We understand that mornings can be busy, and we appreciate all that families do to help students get to school. Please partner with us by planning ahead and aiming to arrive on time each day. Thank you for supporting your child’s learning and helping every student start the day ready to succeed.

On Wednesday morning, students will have a special opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the spooky house! During this daytime experience, all lights will be on, there will be no actors, and students can explore the spooky scenes in a non-scary environment.

⚠️If you prefer for your child not to participate in this behind-the-scenes tour, please notify your child’s teacher in advance.

The Watch D.O.G.S. Event is this Wednesday, Nov. 4th at 5:30PM in the cafeteria.

Dads-Please turn in your orange slips if you are attending with your kids! Please try to complete the background clearance on a computer before the event.

It is already that time of year, time to see our Wildcats prove what they know! Please see information below about the upcoming STAAR Interim Assessments that our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders will take.

The 2026 Thanksgiving Basket Drive will begin next week, Nov. 4-17. Please see the flyer below to see your child's grade level donation request. If you are in need of a little assistance this Thanksgiving, please fill out the link below.
