The Austin Gazette
November 7, 2025
The holidays can bring extra stress even in the best of times, and with the current uncertainty caused by the government shutdown, we know that some families may be feeling the impact more than usual. At the same time, we’ve had many people reach out asking how they can help — and that spirit of kindness is what makes our community so special.
To support families in need, we’ve gathered a list of local food distribution dates and locations happening in the coming weeks. We hope this information is helpful to anyone who could use a little extra support right now.
If you’re looking for ways to give back, Dr. Vinson’s Care Campaign is partnering with the Montgomery County Food Bank to help families across our district. Just one dollar can provide up to four meals, and donations can be made quickly using this QR code through SchoolCash Online.
In addition, the Conroe ISD Police Department is hosting its 24th Annual Children in Santa’s Dreams campaign to collect toys for local children this Christmas. Details on how to contribute are included below.
Together, we can make this season brighter for one another. Thank you for showing what it means to care — the Austin way. 🐾
We're very excited to announce our next Author visit! Michael Patrick O'Neill, author of many non-fiction books, will visit our school on November 10, 2025. During his visit, signed and personalized copies of his gorgeous, hard-cover ocean books will be available for purchase. These books offer a wonderful opportunity for students to engage with exciting marine life topics and prepare for an educational and inspiring author visit. Books may be ordered after November 6th and will be delivered to Austin Elementary after the Author visit. Thank you for supporting this exciting author visit! We look forward to an engaging and educational experience for our students. For more information, please see Mr. Kuykendall's Library website below.
