The Muraski Tribune: Issue 4
Back to School Information
Attention Muraski Families
If your children were anything like me on Friday, they came exhausted and fell right asleep. It's always tough to start on a full week of school, but it was a great one, full of building routines, building relationships, and connecting with our children to set the tone for a great year. Please take a look at some updated information below.
JOIN US FOR MURASKI NIGHT AT THE FOOTBALL GAME ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 29th.
Sincerely,
Mike Griffen
Muraski Night at the Football Game
This is also the Community Tailgate, which is a great night for all of Strongsville Families. Come enjoy all of the fun and vendors before the game, then join Muraski, as we cheer our football players onto the field on our Football Night! See flier for details about where and when to meet.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures (Updated Info) - Last Time
Our Arrival and Dismissal Process has gone very well through the first week of the school year. Thank you for your patience, attention to this matter, and time.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: DURING ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL WHEN YOU LEAVE THE DRIVEWAY YOU MUST TURN RIGHT ON TO Royalton Rd. (82). WHEN YOU WAIT TO TURN LEFT, IT PREVENTS EVERYONE FROM GETTING OUT SMOOTHLY.
Arrival
Above, you will see a map of our parking lots and drop off circle. Cars will turn right into the playground parking lot to drop off their students. We ask that you use a loop in the lot, circling around against the curb to drop your child off.
Busses will used the loop that is directly parallel to the school. All students will enter Door A unless specified because of specific needs.
IMPORTANT - Through the first week of school we will permit parents to park in the car drop lot and walk children to the door (not inside the building), however we ask that after the first week you use the car loop and drop your child(ren) at the curb. There are several adults that will meet them at the door and assist them in getting to where they need to be.
Dismissal
All students will be dismissed from DOOR A, unless otherwise noted. Parents are asked to find parking either in our staff lot or our playground parking lot and walk up to Door A. Students will be released out of Door A and find their parents/guardians to go home. We will assist children with this at the start of the school year.
Important: Once you have your child, we ask that you leave the DOOR A area as quickly as possible, so we can begin calling busses.
If you choose to take your child to our playground after, please know that you are responsible for supervising your child, as the school does not provide supervision for students in that location.
If your child will go home using a different mode of transportation than the bus or they will walk, please fill out the form below.
Please know that if you call after 3:15pm to request an alternative method of transportation our office staff will not be available to respond to your request, as they are preparing for dismissal. We understand emergencies happen, but we request that you call prior to this time, so we can be organized.

ATTENTION 2nd & 4th Grade Parents: IOWA & COGAT TESTING
A NOTE ABOUT GRADES FOR ENCORE: MUSIC, ART, & PE in ELEMENTARY
When looking at grades for these courses, please know that they are standards-based and NOT traditional percentages/letter grades.
M= Standard Met
P= Progressing to Standard
N= Standard Not Yet Met
In order for PowerSchool to show each student’s performance as a standards- based grade, we enter grades as a percentage, which is then converted into an M, P or N.. Each grade level and department has standards that students are working toward and this is what is being evaluated. Although you may see a percentage, please ignore the percentage and look at the progression toward the STANDARD (M, P, N). Grades/ percentages are not utilized in the sense that a traditional grading system uses them. You will see somewhere between a 50% and a 100%, but again, focus on the M, N, or P, as that is the official mark; the percentage is just a placeholder.
