Another BrainPOP Update!

You can now assign movies, quizzes, games, and interactive activities to your students on BrainPOP (this feature is not yet available on BrainPOP Jr.)

To utilize this option, you need to create a My BrainPOP account for yourself and your students. You can then navigate to the feature you want your students to work on, and click ASSIGN. When students log into their accounts, they'll be notified of any new assignments.

For more information, check out the BrainPOP Educators screencast.

Hapara

3-5 and specials teachers... don't forget that you have access to Hapara, a site that allows you to get a glimpse into your students' Google Drives AND web activity. You can access Hapara through your Google Chrome Apps or by going to www.teacherdashboard.com.

Quick Rubric

Quick Rubric is an online tool that allows users to create rubrics on the web for free. After registering for an account, teachers can save and edit their rubrics. Quick Rubric allows teachers to tailor the number of descriptors needed, the points assigned for each topic, and the exact language used for each descriptor. Quick Rubric is a great way for teachers to organize expectations in a clear manner!

Edcamp North Shore

Kipling Elementary School in Deerfield, IL is hosting an Edcamp event on Saturday, October 29 from 8:00am-1:00pm. For more information on this event, click here. If you're interested in this free event, register here before it's sold out!

Description from Edcamp Online: Edcamp is a form of unconference designed specifically for teachers and their needs. What makes Edcamp an unconference? Unlike traditional conferences which have schedules set months in advance by the people running the conference, Edcamp has an agenda that's created by the participants at the start of the event. Instead of one person standing in front of the room talking for an hour, people are encouraged to have discussions and hands-on sessions. Sponsors don't have their own special sessions or tables, all of the space and time are reserved for the things the people there want to talk about. People could pay hundreds of dollars to attend another conference, or they could go to Edcamp for free.
