PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE / MENSAJE DEL DIRECTOR

Dear Patriot Families,

What a wonderful start to the school year! As we move into September, I want to take a moment to thank you for the incredible support you have shown to our students, teachers, and staff. The energy throughout Patriot Elementary has been exciting, and it is clear that we are off to a great start!

Every day, our students are learning, growing, overcoming challenges, and discovering that they are capable of more than they may realize. Our teachers and staff are committed to creating opportunities for every child to find success.

September is an important month for establishing strong routines and building positive relationships. Please continue to encourage your child to come to school on time and ready to learn, demonstrate our Patriot STAR expectations, read every day, and give their very best effort. Your partnership at home makes a tremendous difference in your child’s success at school.

As we begin settling into our routines, please stay connected with us through our school communications, website, and social media. We want families to be informed and involved in all the wonderful things happening at Patriot Elementary.

Most importantly, thank you for trusting us with your children. It is an honor to serve as their principal, and I am excited about all that we will accomplish together this year. Thank you for being a part of something great!

Welcome back!

Just a few reminders from the clinic as we head into the new school year.

Focus: Please make sure that you have updated your choice of consent in Focus for clinic services. Each year this needs to be completed, or we will not be able to treat your child. Per Florida Statute Section 1014.06, which says that schools must receive written permission from parents before delivering non-emergency health services or screenings.

Heath Screenings: If your child is in grades KG, 1st, and 3rd, they can take part in the Florida mandated health screenings with your written permission. This is scheduled to be done on 9/10/2026. The school nurses in our region will be at Patriot to do the following:

KG- hearing and vision

1 and 3- hearing, vision, height, and weight

If your student wears glasses, it would be helpful if they remember to bring their glasses that day to make sure we don’t fail them or to see if their prescription is up to date.

You may receive a letter from us saying that we are recommending a follow-up visit with an eye doctor. Please make sure that you return that letter to us with the results of that doctor’s visit.

Reminders: If your student is prone to those little unexpected “accidents”, please make sure that you are packing a change of clothing in their backpack.

The district’s illness policy has not changed this year. To view, here is the link. https://www.leeschools.net/common/pages/DisplayFile.aspx?itemId=32660134

If your child gets hurt and must use an orthopedic device. The district requires the following:

Physician's order for the use of crutches and/or orthopedic device

Diagnosis

Length of time for use of crutches and/or orthopedic device

Physician statement for no participation in P.E. or other sports

Accommodation for transportation

Students needing medications at school will need to have a provider’s orders on district forms and be brought in by their parents. Click on the QR code to get the proper form.

Wishing all of you a safe and healthy school year!

Notification of the Possible Presence of Asbestos-Containing Materials in the School

School: Patriot Elementary School

Date: September 1, 2026

In 1986 Congress created AHERA (The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act). This act requires all school districts to put the below information out to parents, students, and possible visitors. All district sites have a current AHERA (The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act) Inspection and most have a letter of exemption on file from the architect. Certain asbestos-containing materials or assumed asbestos-containing materials such as: fire doors, roofing materials, or other building materials could still contain ACBM and are monitored for no damage. In the School District of Lee County there is an active management plan for each district site. The report listing the location, quantities, and condition of any or all known materials, is available at the school’s front office for inspection during normal school hours. Copies of the school’s asbestos file can be supplied to you at a cost.
