90 second idea: Drama = Gossip
Refusing to participate in gossip is a skill that must be practiced. Most of us do not avoid listening to other peoples' information naturally. Our curiosity drives us to inquire more, so we've got to plan ahead with the right things to say.
At CCA, we encourage our students to simply say, "No thank you," then change the subject when conversation sounds like gossip. Here's how that works:
Friend: I think she may be mad at you...
You: No thank you. Do you know what's for lunch today?
This takes planning and practice, but leads to much more peaceful relationships when our conversations are not about what we want to change in others.

Learning Beyond the Classroom: The Value of Field Trips
Some of the most meaningful learning experiences happen outside the classroom! Field trips give elementary students the opportunity to explore new places, make real-world connections to what they are learning, and create lasting memories with their classmates. These experiences encourage curiosity, build social skills, and help students see how classroom lessons connect to the world around them.
Our second graders recently enjoyed a wonderful field trip to Bit of Hope Ranch, where they participated in interactive stations, including a horse education station, a barnyard petting station, and Environment Explorers. Through these hands-on activities, students had the opportunity to learn about animals, explore the natural environment, and discover new things through firsthand experiences.
The fun continued as students and families enjoyed a picnic lunch together, complete with campfire popcorn and time to play on the playground. It was a special day filled with learning, laughter, and opportunities to strengthen friendships and build community.
At Cramerton Christian Academy, we value these opportunities because learning is about more than completing assignments and studying textbooks. Field trips help students develop independence, teamwork, observation skills, and an appreciation for the world God has created. Most importantly, they inspire students to ask questions, explore new interests, and approach learning with excitement and wonder.
