It's hard to believe that this is our last newsletter! May has flown by and there are so many things upcoming in the next few weeks. Our last day of school will be June 6, 2025--which is a 1/2 day so students are dismissed at 12:05pm.

Attendance at school has a direct relationship to your child's academic & social growth. If your child will be absent, it is important to enter it in Parent Connect or call our attendance line at 313-827-4701.

Being on time also sets your child up for a great start to their day. The first bell is at 8:55am with the tardy bell at 9:00am. Instruction is set to begin promptly at 9:00am.

We kindly ask that any appointments or vacations not be scheduled during school days.

This is the time of year when our staff puts in a lot of work in grouping students for next school year. There are many factors that go into grouping to ensure that our class makeups are balanced & equitable from both an academic and social perspective. Please know that we do not accommodate parent requests for specific teachers or to have friends be put in the same classroom. Rest assured, our teachers will determine the best placement for your child as teachers, support staff and admin are all involved in the placement process.

We are so excited to announce an iReady Summer Challenge heading your way! Students will still have access to iReady Pathways this summer and our team is putting together a fun incentive. More details will be sent home in June!

Our 5th grade promotion ceremony will take place Thursday, June 5 at 2:00pm. Mia's Flower Truck will also be back this year for any parents who wish to purchase flowers on site.

We are in full registration mode for the 2025-2026 school year. If you have a child turning 5 by December 1, 2025, they are eligible to register for kindergarten or our Young 5s classroom. We are one of the few schools to offer this unique program and find it truly beneficial for those students who need the gift of time.

For our current students in GSRP, we only need 2 items filled out--health physical & emergency card. These can be picked up in our Welcome Center. Please reach out to Ms. Maggie if you have any questions regarding registration for next year at 313-827-4700

Henry Ford is home to 3 GSRP classrooms. They are also enrolling students for next school year. If you have a child who will be 4 by December 1, 2025 please call Cotter at 313-827-6150

Any parents or visitors should ring in at Door 1 off of Driscoll St. If you are visiting or picking up your child, remember that you must park in the parking lot and not in front of the school.

The drop off lane on Driscoll in the morning is strictly for drop off. Pull up to the crosswalk, drop off your child and carefully drive away. Again, if you are physically walking your child to line or into the building, you must park in the parking lot.

The last Early Release Tuesday will be May 27. There will be a full day of school on Tuesday, June 3, 2025

While we do our best to keep our calendar updated, it is important to check your child's Class Dojo for any messages the teacher may send. If you do not have access, please let your child's teacher know.

We do have small selection of extra 2024-2025 Henry Ford Yearbooks for sale. If you are interested, please send in $12 with your child.
