Dear students, staff, and parents/guardians:

Graduation exercises will take place this Sunday, June 2, at 1pm on Turco Field. The ceremony will be streamed live using this link, and will also be shown live on Verizon channel 29 and Comcast Channel 6. We have two days of MCAS testing coming up this week. All Freshmen, along with a few Sophomores, will be taking the Science & Technology MCAS on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 4 & 5. Please make sure you arrive at school well-rested, after a good breakfast, and with a fully charged chromebook.

Final Exams will take place June 10-13. The schedule for those finals is attached below. Students will be released early, and buses will pick up early on those days.

This is the final call for spring candids. Please share pictures from spring sports, events, future plans, and celebrations. We will be finalizing and sending off the Spring Supplement to production before leaving for the summer, and we want to feature all of your favorite memories.

The Walpole Robotics Team will be having a bottle and can drive on Saturday, June 8, 2024. It will be held in front of the Plimpton building at Walpole High School. Please come by with your bottles and cans that are redeemable. The funds go directly to the Walpole Robotics Team to fund our robots, team travel expenses, and new tools that the team needs to build the robots. The team greatly appreciates the support from the community. The drive runs from 9:00AM - 1:00PM. You just drop off the cans/bottles and the team takes care of the rest. Thank you from Teams 1153 and 1119 the Timberwolves and Pup Cups.

The WHS Latin Club is currently organizing a trip to Sicily for April 2025! If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity (and were unable to attend our last meeting), there will be a meeting held for both students and parents in Room 1317 next Thursday (June 6th) at 6 pm. This trip is open to all students at the high school. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Gabriel Bakale (gbakale@walpole.k12.ma.us).

The Photography Club will have its last meeting of the year of June 6, 2024. The theme is Personal Choice. Take a picture of whatever you would like this week. We will end our year with you being able to choose your own theme. It's been a fantastic year with the club and I would love to thank all the students that have come through the year. I've enjoyed every week and looking at all the pictures of all the themes the students have picked out over the weeks. We've had some really impressive pictures and I can't wait for next year to have some of our new students join in the club. Thank you to all the students that have been a part of the club this year and looking forward to next year. The World Language Department congratulates all our students who participated in National Language Exam Contests in Spanish, French and Latin this spring. We had many students earn certificates and medals and we are very proud of all their success! Medal winners will be recognized at Undergraduate Awards night on Monday, June 3.

Registration is now open for the 51st Annual Walpole Labor Day Road Race!

Don’t miss this wonderful Walpole tradition. Sign-up now for the 5K, 10K, or Youth Mile. All proceeds support the 200+ athletes in the Walpole High School Cross Country / Track & Field Program. Each race participant will receive a finisher’s medal. If you register before August 15th, you’ll also receive a free race t-shirt! Can’t join us live? No problem. Attention junior families:

SAT registration is now open for the 2024-2025 school year. If your student is planning to take the SAT this fall, they can register and save their space now. The fall SAT dates are:

• Saturday, August 24
• Saturday, October 5
• Saturday, November 2
• Saturday, December 7

Students register online through their College Board accounts. They will need to upload a headshot photo for their registration ticket and have a credit card to pay the fee of $68.

If you believe you qualify for a fee waiver, please contact your school counselor.

Looking for something to do this summer? There are many Pre-College Summer Programs available to high school students. Please visit the Summer Programs site for a list of opportunities. Please note that this is continually being updated.

Freshman orientation will be May 28th at 5:45PM in the WHS auditorium. All students entering the 9th grade who plan on participating in athletics at the high school level should to attend with a parent or guardian.
