Dear Bellerive Families,
This month, our schoolwide focus is on Habit 1: Be Proactive. Being proactive means taking responsibility for our choices, actions, and attitudes. This includes having a growth mindset and persevering when things are challenging. Instead of reacting to situations or blaming others, proactive leaders pause, think, and choose a positive response.
At Bellerive, students are learning that they are in charge of themselves. We’re practicing skills like:
- Using kind words and actions, even when situations feel frustrating.
- Pausing to think before reacting.
- Focusing on what we can control, rather than what we cannot.
Throughout the month, students will participate in classroom modules that introduce and reinforce Habit 1. This week, during our half day of school, students will take time to review Habit 1 in more detail. Families will also receive a flyer called “Habits at Home” with activities you can do together to practice Habit 1 outside of school.
Together, we’re helping our Sea of Leaders dive into responsibility and build strong habits that will serve them for life!
