LION EYES DISTRICT 14P NEWSLETTER
OCTOBER-NOVEMBER
MESSAGES
Greetings fellow Lions,
Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers this past month. They cannot seem to figure out how to control my constant bleeding. The steroid that they have me on isn't working. They placed me on a new medicine. However, it can take a number of months to take effect, if at all. I have been in the hospital a number of times and had several transfusions. I have missed several club visits which I am extremely disappointed about and will reschedule. I have attended the Mohnton Cumru Halloween Parade with IPDG Art, and it was awesome. I have visited a few clubs and have really enjoyed meeting everyone and learning more about the clubs. I also attended a Peace Week event in Delaware.
In a message from International President AP Singh, he asks us to "Serve Louder. Lions are humble people. We like to let our actions speak louder than our words. However, we must not be afraid to talk about our service. Only by serving louder can we bring in more Lions to serve even more people in our communities."
Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone had a great summer. Fall is now upon us. I have as usual been busy with meetings and learning on the Lions Portal. Some of the options are club development, and they also have a section on recruiting new members. On October 31,2025 We will be attending the second state meeting in Harrisburg. I have not been out to visit any clubs, with my dad in the hospital and then he went to rehab. My sister and myself have been the taxi service for my mom since she does not drive. He just came home today and I am thankful to have him home. While he was in the hospital and rehab, we made sure to thank the staff for all the service that they complete every day, It made me realize more than usual that we all complete service to our family, friends and community that we do not think about every day.
So, I would like to thank everyone for all of the service they have performed daily.
Thank you to the clubs how have sent me their newsletters. My email address is paulahilbert2@comcast.net. I had it wrong in the last letter. Sorry to many email addresses that I have and combined them together.

BLANDON LIONS CLUB
Sunday, October 27th - what a beautiful chilly day in Blandon, PA. Our Lion volunteers showed up early at Maier's Grove to set up and decorate for what turned out to be a great event for over 75 children, their parents and grandparents. The day started with plenty of food to eat prepared on the flattop and then following was a very enthused group lining up to participate in the Scavenger Hunt and hoping to win prizes. If that wasn't enough, there were pumpkins on each table for the children to decorate, connect to dots to color in, along with plenty of candy! We had duck races in the creek; the crowd was very excited to see if their duck was a winner! Next up we had our annual costume contest - the children paraded around in front of the judges so they could award children with trophies - best costume, scariest, etc. That ended our amazing day here in Maier's Grove and we look forward to planning next year's event!

WEST GOSHEN LIONS CLUB
The West Goshen Lions Club Honored Lion Ed Weiss by planting an October Glory Maple Tree at Marsh Creek, his favorite place to fish. He was our Treasurer for over 30 years and will be missed by all. Sam Brown’s Wholesale Nursery kindly allowed our club to purchase the tree at wholesale cost. We were joined by 11 West Goshen Lions, friends and of course, Lion Ed’s Family. Special thanks for Dan, Laura, Danny and Diana D’Antonio for delivering the tree.

Blandon lions club
Wednesday, October 29th was a beautiful day for a trunk 'n treat at Trinity Bible Fellowship Church in Blandon. The Blandon Lions Club was the first table the children approached when they arrived. They not only received candy but some delicious Weaver's apple cider. The children played games with the local vendors who participated in the event, and they had a lovely time! It was an honor to be invited to participate in this event.

Congratulations Dr. Dipak Patel! We are so grateful to have Dipak a part of the Lions Club and for all he does to serve our community.
