Oct 19 - 23, 2026

RDS This Week:

Monday - 1st period

Tuesday - 2nd period

Wednesday - 3rd period

Thursday - 4th period

Friday - Homeroom

* Important information will be shared in homeroom for most grade levels, please plan to have your students attend.

We have school Monday through Friday this week, 7:40 - 2:50 daily.

Students should be in their seats in the classroom by 7:40, so plan to have them to school by 7:30 am.

Some students and families are a little confused about the tardy policy. Arriving at the school door at 7:40 is still going to result in the student being marked tardy.

Students should be in their classrooms by 7:40.

It takes some time to walk from the school entrance to classrooms, and the car rider line gets long starting at 7:25, so please plan accordingly.

Even though we have testing occurring on October 28, all students will be required to attend school. Seniors will still be able to attend their off-campus CVCC classes and internships.

Mark your calendars for the following testing dates. Please do not schedule any medical appointments on the following dates:

October 28 (Wed) -- Pre-ACT, CCRA, CCRAA -- all students attend school

November 5 & 6 -- WorkKeys (for select seniors who have taken 2 consecutive CTE courses). Qualified students will be notified. These days are regular school days - all students attend school.

October 16 is a Required Teacher Workday, meaning that it is a great day to utilize for doctor's appointments and family errands so they don't miss school other days during the month.

Look who was nominated this week as a student who serves as an example of positive character at Newton-Conover High School! This may be one of the reasons he was also chosen to be the Homecoming King!

All of the ladies of the homecoming court looked stunning in their dresses! (Pictured are most, but not all, of the lovely ladies.) Congratulations to Ja'Liyah for being crowned the Queen!

October 19 - No Athletics

October 20 - Soccer Home vs Bandys

October 21 - Cross Country Meet @ Southside Park

October 22 - Soccer @ North Lincoln; JV Football @ Foard

October 23 - Football Home vs Foard

We are proud of all of our athletes!

Congratulations to Jenna Sain and Shaena Sharp for being Regional Tennis Champions! Good luck to them as they advance to the State Tournament this weekend in Burlington, NC.

Check out the most recent scores and results on the Athletic Booster and Band Booster Facebook pages.

Barring any technical difficulties, we plan to send home report cards on Friday through home room teachers. If things with Infinite Campus cause a delay, we will send home report cards as soon as they are ready.
