Universal Screener Information for the 26-27 School Year
A universal screener (The Behavioral and Emotional Screening System or BESS) will be utilized in the fall and spring to proactively capture our students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs. The 5-10 minute web-based questionnaire will be completed in students’ Physical Education classes in September and February. The results will tell us where we are as a district and help to inform the development of appropriately tailored interventions and supports. You may choose to opt your child/children out of wellness screening results and outcomes by emailing Fallon Corcoran at corcoranf@krsd.us by 2:45 pm on September 8.

New Student Device Expectations for the 26-27 School Year
Dear Kingsway Students, Parents, and Guardians,
One topic that has received considerable attention this summer has been New Jersey's new law restricting the use of personal internet-enabled devices during the school day. As a result, Kingsway has developed procedures to ensure compliance with the law while continuing to provide students with a safe, engaging, and focused learning environment.
Please take a few moments to review the attached letter, which outlines the new requirements, our district procedures, and our "Off and Away" campaign. Additional information will be shared by your child's school prior to the start of the school year.
Thank you in advance for your partnership and support as we work together to make the 2026-2027 school year a successful one.

Breakfast Before the Bell Information
Starting this year, the students will have an opportunity to get breakfast in two locations of the building: the 400-wing and the East Cafe. Both locations are a Grab and Go breakfast.
A New Breakfast Cart Will Be Placed in the 400-Wing Each Morning
Digital Hall Pass System for the 26-27 School Year - GoGuardian
This school year, we will continue to use a digital hall pass system designed to make the school day safer, more efficient, and less disruptive. With GoGuardian, students will request passes on their chromebooks or on the classroom kiosk. The system allows school staff to see, in real time, who is out of class, where they are going, and how long they've been gone. This helps us keep students accountable while minimizing interruptions during instructional time.
More importantly, GoGuardian improves student safety. In case of an emergency, we can quickly locate students who are not in their classrooms, helping us respond more effectively and ensuring everyone's wellbeing.
By using GoGuardian, we’re able to keep students in class longer, reduce lost learning time, and provide a more secure school environment. We appreciate your support as we continue to use this digital hall pass system that will begin on Thursday, September 3.
Attendance Information for the 26-27 School Year
Dear Kingsway Students, Parents, and Guardians,
Regular school attendance is one of the strongest predictors of student success. We are sharing an important update to district attendance procedures that will take effect beginning in the 2026–2027 school year.
These updates align Kingsway’s practices with New Jersey Department of Education guidance and state statutes regarding attendance reporting and excused absences.
Please see the attached letter for full details, including definitions of excused absences, attendance expectations, and how families can access additional support.
If you have any questions, please contact your child’s principal or the Superintendent.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting student attendance and success.
Chromebook Insurance for the 26-27 School Year
Chromebook insurance for the 2026–2027 school year is available now through November 1st for $25 per student. For just $25, you can protect your child’s device and avoid costly repair fees that can reach up to $250. We encourage all families to take advantage of this protection. More information can be found here.
Student Chromebooks: Expectations for the 26-27 School Year
Our 1:1 Chromebook initiative supports student learning in and outside of the classroom. The district-issued device is part of each student's necessary classroom supplies, similar to a pencil, book, or paper. All students are expected to attend every class, every day prepared with a fully charged, district-issued Chromebook with the charging cord. We highly recommend designating a location in your home for the device to charge at night and to be easily placed in the student's backpack in the morning. Click below for more information about chromebook expectations.

Grades 9-12: Student Passwords Will Change on August 4
Dear Kingsway Families,
As part of our ongoing commitment to protecting student accounts and personal information, all student Google account passwords will be changed on Tuesday, August 4. This password change applies to all students in grades 8-12. Incoming 7th graders and 9th grade Logan students will not have their passwords changed since they are being enrolled in the Kingsway School District.
What You Need to Know
- Your child's new Google password will be available in the Genesis Parent Portal beginning on August 4.
- Please verify that you can access your Genesis Parent Portal before that date so you can retrieve your child's updated password when needed.
- If you are unable to access the Parent Portal, please contact our Registrar's Office at registrar@krsd.us for assistance.
Why Are Passwords Changing?
Annual password updates are an important part of keeping student accounts secure. Regular password changes help prevent unauthorized access and reduce the risk of cyber threats. In addition, Kingsway utilizes Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and other security measures to better protect student accounts.
For more information about our technology security practices, including MFA, please visit www.krsd.org/technology.

Summer Assignments: Dragon Strong - All Summer Long!
The goal of summer assignments at KRSD is to continue to engage students in academic activities throughout the summer or to provide continued practice so students enter the next school year with confidence. These activities have been designed to be completed independently without the need for direct instruction to further demonstrate the importance of self-directed learning.
If a course is not listed, then a summer assignment is not required for that course.
