September 24, 2023
Good Morning,
Another great week! Students are beginning to acclimate to the schedule of the day, routines and the rigor of the curriculum. Congratulations to those students have turned in their reading charts for a Super Reader sticker. We hope our school reaches 10,000 books by the end of June!! See below for more information.
Volunteers:
If you wish to volunteer in the school you must complete a CORI form. CORI forms can be completed at the school office M-F between 8:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Please bring a current driver's license with you.
Tuition:
When making a tuition payment, don't forget to include your child's name on the memo line of the check or money order. Do not send in a cash payment with your child. All cash payments must be made at the front office.
Transportation:
If your child rides the van to school and is absent, you must contact transportation to let them know.
School Lunch:
If you are requesting a school lunch for your child, please do not send a lunch in with your child. Two lunches is overwhelming for students to pick and choose from. If you've previously indicated your child will receive a school lunch but no longer wish to continue, please notify your teacher to let them know.
We understand that the traffic is heavy at the end of the day when entering the JECC parking lot. We ask our families to please stay in your car until you reach the pick up destination. Your child will always be waiting safely with a staff member.
Have a great week!

I'm a Super Reader!
Help us reach our goal of 10,000 books
We hope to foster the love of reading in our students. Please help us by helping your child read each day. Attached is a reading chart that your child can color each time they read a book. Bring the reading chart to school once all apples are colored and your child will receive a Super Reader sticker. You may choose to only read 10 books per month or submit as many reading charts as you want. We will be keeping track by classroom. If JECC students reach the goal of 10,000 books, we will have a Bubble party at the end of the year.
Help our students reach their goal!

Parking:
1. Proceed slowly down the hill and around the building. At the second stop sign look for the staff member to direct you to a specific lane beginning at 8:05 a.m. All cars will be in rows facing Pearl St. Parking spaces are not utilized during pick up/drop off times, as the lot is too small to accomodate all cars.
2. Please remain in your car until a staff member lets you know that it is safe to exit your vehicle with your child. Be sure cars are not left idling. JECC Staff will escort your child into the building. (do not wait to see your child's teacher)
3. All parents will immediately return to their cars after dropping off their student. Do not leave the parking area until a staff member signals you to go. Families will be released by one lane at a time.
4. Pick up procedures will be the same as above
5. Remember to shut off your car before exiting your vehicle.
We appreciate your patience!

How to update your Aspen Family Portal Account
In preparation for Parent Orientation, we are asking that each family log into ASPEN using the Portal, Login and Password information that has been sent from the technology department with the email entitled "Welcome to the Aspen Family Portal". This will allow you to update your emergency contacts and medical form. It is important that you have 4 emergency contacts in addition to you as the parent/guardian.
We are asking that you complete the following steps by noon on Tuesday, September 5th.
Once you have accessed your account - look at the page in full view. In the middle of the page you will see "Contact Verification and Pink form" a "+ initiation". Click on the '+Initiation" This will bring you a pop-up, click "Next" to make changes to the contacts.
Halfway down the page, click on your student's name in blue. This will bring you to the student's medical information. Be sure to have the most updated information in this form as you will be confirming the information and signing off on the night of parent orientation.
**Be sure to click "OK" once you complete your updates on each form.
