Welcome Incoming 6th Grade Sharks

At Scullen, we are getting excited to welcome in our new 6th grade class for next school year. Please see the information below regarding some very important dates.

All parents and guardians are invited to attend this event, May 4th from 5:15 - 6:00pm in the Scullen Cafeteria. During this event, parents and guardians will receive information from administration, counselors, and 6th grade teacher representatives about the transition to Middle School and all of the supports that we will provide your students. During this event, we will provide you with information about the middle school schedule, academics, electives, student clubs, and who to contact. The presentation will begin promptly at 5:15pm. We hope to see you there, but if you are not able to attend, presentations will be available on the Scullen website.

This presentation is for parents and guardians as your students will receive this information during their step-up days, however, we would also like to invite incoming 6th graders from 5:00 - 7:00pm to participate in our Scullen Steam Night. While the parents and guardians enjoy learning about the transitions to middle school, their 5th grade students can receive an actual middle school experience. Students will be able to walk the halls of Scullen to learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM). Parents and guardians can then join their student in STEAM night following the presentation in the cafeteria.

Scullen is partnering with all three elementary buildings (Fry, Peterson, and Welch) to provide incoming students with a Step-Up-Day. During a school day, students will be bused to Scullen for a short presentation from administration and staff. Fifth Graders will then be provided a tour of the building by student leaders who will also answer all questions. This event will be for students only.

Please mark your calendars for Monday, August 10th from 8:00 - 11:30AM. Incoming 6th grade students will be invited to our SWIM (Scullen Welcomes Incoming Middle Schoolers). This will be a morning where students are invited to walk their schedules, meet their teachers, learn more about middle school, and practice opening their lockers.
