The Soaring Eagle News
Alderman's weekly family newsletter to keep you in the know.

Happy Fantastic Friday Eagle Families,
WOW! What an AMAZING start to Quarter 2! Our classrooms are buzzing with excitement as our Eagles dive into new standards, fresh units, and exciting learning adventures! It's been wonderful seeing our students tackle new challenges with curiosity, confidence, determination, and plenty of smiles along the way! Report cards went home this past Thursday, so we encourage you to take a few moments to celebrate your child's accomplishments—BIG and small—and talk about goals for the new quarter. Please remember to review and sign all included paperwork and return everything in your child's yellow communication folder. Together, let's keep encouraging our Eagles to work hard, reach grade-level proficiency, and become the very BEST versions of themselves. Every little step forward is a reason to celebrate!
And speaking of celebrating… COSTUME DAY WAS A BLAST! Our hallways were filled with superheroes, princesses, creative characters, and LOTS of smiling faces! It was so much fun seeing our Eagles and staff get into the spirit while enjoying another memorable day at Alderman. Thank you to our families for helping make this tradition such a fun and successful experience. These moments of laughter and excitement are part of what makes our school community so special!
Who's ready for a sweet treat AND a great cause?! Join us this Wednesday, November 4, from 5:00–7:00 PM for our FIRST Scooter's Night of the school year! It's a great opportunity to grab a delicious drink, connect with other Alderman families, and help raise money to support our school! Bring the family, invite your friends and neighbors, and let's show Scooter's what EAGLE PRIDE is all about! The more, the merrier!
Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and partnership. We're off to a fantastic start, and with our amazing Alderman families cheering us on, there's no limit to how high our Eagles can fly!

Low Performing School Letter
The purpose of the attached letter is to inform you that Alderman Elementary, has been designated as a low-performing school by the North Carolina State Board of Education. Alderman Elementary received a School Performance Grade of D and a growth designation of met expected growth for the 2025–2026 school year. Although we are committed to improving this score, it is important to remember that just as no one single score or grade tells the whole story of a student, neither does it tell you everything about the performance of a school or the opportunities that our school provides.

Attendance Matters:
We were able to get 2 more days toward our goal so we now have 4 days of 10 or fewer tardies, just 16 more days to go! This week we averaged 14 tardies each day.
Remember, students who enter the building at 7:40 AM or later are tardy, so please adjust your morning routine to get out the house a few minutes earlier and plan to arrive a few minutes early.
