Quarterly Update # 2

*Make sure your child is getting plenty of rest- we go out to recess four times a day!

*Check your child's backpack for their green folder and return it back to school. You will find student work and important information in these folders.

* If there is a change in dismissal for your child, the office must be notified.

*Attendance is really important! Let's work together to ensure your student is coming to school every day ready to learn!

*Students can bring a snack and water bottle daily!

Reading: We finished two novels this quarter, My Life as a Book and Love, Amalia. We learned about plot, setting, character traits, and point of view. We will be moving into a new novel this quarter, Blood on the River, which helps develop our understanding of life in early Jamestown.

Math: This quarter we are moving into fractions, including ordering and comparing fractions and mixed numbers.

Virginia Studies: We will begin studying Jamestown and the Revolutionary War.

Science: We will continue studying ecosystems and plant life.
