Message from Our Principal
Hello Mountain View Family,
We want to thank everyone who has attended our after-school events, conferences, and parent learning sessions. We appreciate your support. If you are not able to join us for the learning sessions, we will post a video of the training on our website so you can view it at home.
There are only nine school days until Thanksgiving break and 28 school days until the end of the second nine weeks and Winter break. This school year is quickly passing by.
Please take time to add the December events to your calendar. We know this is a busy time so we have not scheduled a lot of events, however I will share some district events for our students as they become available.
Until next month,
LaBecca Thompson

Greetings Parents:
The month of October has been very busy and November appears to be the same. We have participated in activities for Red Ribbon Week as well as Bully Prevention. Third, Fourth, and Fifth graders participated in discussions regarding PUTTING A STOP TO BULLYING. They learned about why a bully bullies with the intent to HURT, HARM, and HUMILIATE. The students learned about the four different types of bullying (Physical, Verbal, Emotional and Cyber). Different examples were discussed to help them identify which one was which. Third graders are continuing with their book study (The Coffee Bean). Fourth and Fifth graders have selected six of their positive attributes and turned it into an art project. The project will soon go on display in the hallway at MVES for all to enjoy. It is entitled, I AM ….

Hello Pre-K – 2nd grade parents
Can you believe it is already November?
We are enjoying learning about the “character traits” with your students. So far, we have discussed Respect and Good Citizenship. There have been outstanding discussions. This month, we will begin learning about Gratitude (being thankful).
A 21-day Family Gratitude Challenge will be coming home with your student. It is a great way to help foster an attitude of gratitude and an excellent tool for initiating deep and meaningful conversations.
We hope that you will also enjoy the tips from the Supporting Your Child’s Learning at Home brochure we sent home.
We wish you well!
