Prosper ISD Dedicates New Rucker Elementary
Mrs. Rucker began her career as an educator and came to Prosper in 1983, when our community looked very different than it does today. She taught in Prosper ISD and eventually became the principal of Prosper Elementary, serving our district for 14 years and public education for 32 years. In 2005, Prosper ISD renamed Prosper Elementary to be known as Judy Rucker Elementary. The new Judy Rucker Elementary School campus is located directly next to the previous building, which now is used as the District Programs Building.
"At Rucker Elementary, we talk about being Rooted in Excellence. To me, that means being grounded in who we are, committed to serving others, always striving to grow, and leaving the places we touch better than we found them," Bobbie Allen, principal of Rucker Elementary, said. "That is the legacy of Judy Rucker. And that is the legacy we hope every student who walks through these doors will carry with them."

BEST PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN TEXAS
Named by HEB's Excellence in Education Awards as the Best Large District in the State of Texas, Prosper ISD has an established 68-year history that is grounded in the humble roots of a farming community, now known for excellence in the arts, academics, and athletics. Our students and staff are routinely recognized on the local, state, and national levels for outstanding achievements, and our teachers are highly qualified experts who bring out the best in every student.
We are incredibly proud to share that Prosper ISD has officially been recognized as a Model Professional Learning Community (PLC) District by Solution Tree's Evidence of Effectiveness Committee. This is one of the most prestigious recognitions in education — and it belongs to every single person who shows up for our students every day.
This distinction is not given lightly. It is earned — through years of intentional collaboration, a relentless focus on learning, and a shared commitment to ensuring that every student in Prosper ISD has the opportunity to succeed at the highest levels.
