August 8th, 2023
March 31- April 4, 2025
Message From the Principal
We have completed our 1st week of the 4th 9 weeks. State Assessments will be starting this week for our 5th and 8th graders. They will be taking their Science State Assessments, 5th graders will test at 9am on Tuesday and Thursday, 8th graders will take their test during their Science Classes on Tuesday and Thursday.
Help them be ready to do their best by making sure they get a good nights sleep and eat a hearty breakfast to fuel their brains. Encourage your students to take their time on their test and give their best efforts. We will be rewarding students throughout our testing season when we catch them taking their time and giving their best efforts!
Upcoming Tests
April 8-11 will be ELA State Assessments for all 5th-8th grade students.
April 14-18 will be Math State Assessments for all 5th -8th grade students.
Thank you to all who have donated snacks so far- here is the list and link if you would still like to donate.
Attached is the Amazon Wish List for snacks for State Assessments. Each time a student tests they are given a snack, a piece of gum and a mint or jolly rancher. With every student in the Middle School testing we like to make sure that they are fueled with a snack. This isn't made possible without the donations from all of you and we greatly appreciate all of those donations and I know the students enjoy the treats as well!
The items are just suggestion we will take anything you are willing to donate. Please bring donations to the office AFTER spring break, if you order off the list you can have it shipped directly to the school, 210 N Miller St. Meriden KS

8th Grade Parents,
Over the next few school days, your student will be bringing home a bright pink permission slip for their Job Shadow experience on April 17th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Please make sure to sign and return this form to me as soon as possible—students will not be able to participate without it.
In order for this event to be successful and run smoothly, we need help from parents to transport their students to and from their job shadow locations. We understand that this may not be possible for every family, but the more parents who are able to help out, the easier it will be to accommodate all of the individual placements.
Please take a minute to fill out this Google form to help with coordination of transportation: https://forms.gle/KWi6g75R11SxU9ax5
Students will need to arrive at their job shadow location at 9:00 am and be picked up at 11:00 am (unless communicated otherwise). Afterward, we’ll return to school and enjoy pizza together, so no need to worry about providing lunch.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication in helping make this a valuable experience for our students! If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at payton.andrews@usd340.org.
Best regards,
Payton Andrews
